I enjoy watching your techniques of sewing your hexagons together. I made one hexagon quilt my first quilt ever 44 years ago. I started my second hexagon quilt almost 10 years ago. I’m in the middle of quilting it. Seeing your techniques I think is good because when I did mine it never occurred to me that their were smarter ways of sewing them together. Again your quilt is very lovely thank you for sharing.

I just realized that you let your cardboard in place. You will sew with them? I took them and baste the one that make borders but your idea is much much better cuz you can write instructions!! Bravo as we say in French.

Yes, you only remove the papers once the hexies are stitched together. I have some other tutorials (stitching hexies in to flowers) which also explains this. Thank you!

Thank you! I’m at this point with my hexis and wasn’t sure how to join them. How do you handle the edges? Finish it off? Thanks again

I love this video. Thank you for showing your process. You have such a great energy and presence on video (as I'm sure you do in person too). Quick question, what is your approach to how many different fabrics to feature in a quilt? Is there a min number for example or an ideal number of repetition of fabrics? Thank you

Thank you for your very kind words :) I don't have a formula, I just wing it really.. I usually just dive into all my scraps and pull from there. The more the merrier I say!!

Could u make a Hoxie placemat?...If so, what size would u use?
@thestrawberrythief92994 ай бұрын
Hi Susanne, what a lovely idea! Yes, you could absolutely make a hexie placemat using 1" or 2" hexies. As for the size of the placemat, we like to make ours custom to our needs, so we lay out a plate, cutlery (and a glass if you'd like that to sit on the mat also) and measure a rectangle for these items to. sit comfortably. Alternatively there are standard sizes which you can google :)

Just take a picture and stack them in order, way less confusing
