Fantastic video. Had my L322 12 years now. Its running like clockwork and reliable. Think the key to Range Rovers or Land Rovers in general is looking after them. If you do...they are amazing. Unfortunately many people don't and hence all the bad press

Nice video Mark, Totally agree, went through mine when I got it 2yrs ago, did all fluids 👍 then rear arch liners out and rust converter and lanoguard applied. Need to do again this summer. Oil changed every 5k/12 months. Dont do alot of mileage so other fluids typically 10k or so. On 117k, will keep eye out for EGR and turbos, all ok ATM, and like you, the occasional blast above 3k rpm 👍 awesome vehicles, happy motoring.

I think the biggest draw when opening a door might actually be the satnav/entertainment system/amps etc. Pretty sure it all boots whenever any door is opened too, it's not just the drivers door. At least not on my vehicle anyway!

They are built well, tough as hell, my 05 HSE is in good shape, electrical is clean, untouched, minimal surface rust, I have a small battery with a bad cell and it won't move in gear, any gear, could the trans not shift from a low bad battery, it has the BMW motor

Bad batteries cause strange faults, suggest you take it in or scan for codes 👍🏻

After a long search i managed to find a great minimal rust, great service history, etc, I've had it 2 months and NS turbo has popped, I was expecting to change them just not so quickly 🤣.. great trucks tho can't wait to get it back and get on with going through it and enjoying it

@@mrdubdudehopefully that's you for a while on that front at least. Looking at getting an l322 so researching the likely maintenance and expenditure required to run one at the moment, so thanks for responding. Have two defenders at the moment but these are a very different infinitely more complex undertaking!

I'm all about maintenance ,but how often do you have to replace parts and the price of the parts is what scares me personally

Parts break, maintenance of fluids is one way to stop must things breaking. Most things give warning signs before they break, most people ignore until broken.

I am about to buy a 2010 L322 3.6 V8 with 67K on the dash. No rust no mods, dealer service history. One owner. What do you think?

Take a scan tool and see what codes it throws up, the rest is your gut feeling, on the interior wear and tear etc.
