This video is how to do a full coolant flush. I will be replacing the thermostat housing, upper radiator hose, lower radiator hose, and overflow hose.

When you remove a battery you always remove the negative terminal first. If you removed the positive terminal first there is a chance that your removal tool could touch a part of the vehicle that is grounded causing a short in the battery and plenty of sparks. When installing the battery you install. the positive terminal first, then the negative.

ugh, the thermostat housing, the most hated villain in the focus community, i think someone on focusfanatics found a company that makes an aluminum one

Yeah it’s a horrible design. At least I was able to get so many miles out of it.

It looks like my 2005 focus lower radiator hose has a slow leak. It's in a very tight spot. So I have to take off the A/C compressor, power steering hose and power steering pump, remove the headlight... do I need to purchase a $75 hose clamp remover too?! BTW, thanks for the video. Any other advice?

Richard X your situation may be different to mine. I would just take everything one step at a time. Just locate the items Incase you need to get them quick.

What is part number of 2nd hose (in coolant reservoir) , next the one you replaced that goes from coolant tank to thermostat housing (heater hose)

I have a 2001 focus. 160,000 miles on it. What oil do you recommend me for my car ?

Personally I use Royal Purple 5-20 WITH a royal purple filter. I have found that my oil lasts longer with that combination. I also do a motor flush about every 4 oil changes. Its really easy to do. Amazon is the cheapest place to get it. I also have 149,750 miles and have been using this combo since 104,000. I have a video of how to change your oil if you do not know how to do it yet.

Weird I cant find it either. I think it got deleted. I will be doing an oil change soon and will just film it again. I know that doesn't help you. Just know that when you are under the car the oil filter is on the passenger side above the half shaft. make sure that the o ring comes off when you take it off and then lube the new oil filter so that it does not get stuck You do not need to crank it super tight because no matter what you it will be tighter when you go to take it off. 4.5 quarts will fill up the drain pan after you drain out all of the oil from the drain plug. Ever since switching to Royal Purple with the royal purple filter I use it maybe once a year. The royal purple does such a good job keeping my engine lubed I don't have many problems.
