I feel like the devs really listened to the feedback after 1.0 and have squished so many of concerns with this developer blog. My excitement for Coral Island is back at its peak I’m really looking forward to everything on here, the animated dinosaurs are a really fun surprise to me as I LOVE dinos. The ONLY thing that could have made this update better, was some confirmation that island hopping is still coming, maybe they want to save it for a big 2.0 update, and therefore don’t want to talk about it too much now considering what they are currently working on is mainly “1.0 core-gameplay” stuff. Either way the statement they made at the beginning about being committed to their full vision of Coral Island makes me really hopeful . Thank you for this wonderful video Sarah, I can’t wait to eventually experience this update with you and the community when it comes out

I really hope they are also prioritizing fixing some of the stuff that is breaking the game at the moment. I'm currently halfway through summer year 2 and I haven't had a rainy day since year 1 ended

My summer year 3 had no rain/storms yet 1 windy day at the end. I think it's just the algorithm they use for random weather.

I stopped playing year 1 fall a couple days before the fall festival due to that bug but I have seen a few people mentioning how difficult it has been to finish the museum do to the weather specific bugs and fish

I agree!! I do think it's just the algorithm but it really needs tuning. I'm still in my first year autumn 24th and didn't have rain for a single day? In autumn? 😂

I put about 40 hours into early access in this game, then decided to wait for the features to be more fleshed out. I was going to play at launch, but then saw even more features were incoming. So I waited again to play. Now I see this roadmap and want to delay playing even more, lol. It's nothing negative against the devs, I just have to be very careful about burnout, and I'm not sure I'd play through this game more than a couple times. I'm fine waiting, and am beyond excited for more features. This is such a lovely game, I want it to be as feature complete as possible before I really sink my teeth into playing it, so I really appreciate this video and others you've done in a similar vein. It gives me so much to look forward to and be excited about. :)

Hopefully they work on the minigames that mostly have difficult and impossible to understand mechanics with no real tutorials - I dont even want to play any minigames after trying the beach cleanup day activities!

I know it's weird, but I think the Ostridge birds will be going where the Cows are. Or MAYBE you need to update the Chicken Coop so it does have a bigger door? Those are my guesses. My takeaway from 1.1 though is overall they're going to finish all main stories, which was MY biggest wish. I haven't touched Coral Island in awhile because I am waiting for the Merfolk romance to be unlocked, since I want to give Semeru a chance lol.

i wish the s town rank has more crops seed updates. i really like farming in coral island though. i love the varieties of the crops. it kinda make me look forward to every season.

Ohmygosh! There’s so much to unpack here and I’ll have to watch this multiple times to really process everything. Imagine if we get to work at the Ramen shop part-time (wishful thinking) and we need to have a Sarah Sunstone tourist NPC because that would be so iconic!! Also I hope they make a rain totem or something because I’m on my third year trying to catch this Red King Arowana and it hasn’t been rainy, stormy or windy 😭 but attractions thoo!?? This is gonna be soo good!!

I really want to see the tourists and attractions system, it's seems super interested. I hope there will be a lot of different tourists, young and old ones, even families... I also hope we will be able to interact with the attractions, play minigames and all !

Gotta have my own Ostrichland!! Them when you come visit my island, you can all pet and feed the Ostriches. Sarah, you always share this news with such enthusiasm! Your love for Coral Island just oozes out of your words. This is such an exciting time to be a part of this exciting, loving community!! Still building up my initial stuff in Enshrouded at the moment, as Sarah showed me, that's another game I didn't know I really needed to play. But I'll be returning to Coral Island very soon. Love 2U All! Doing some replays between streams and writing more in my, 'My Time as a Gemstone' Journal.

I can't wait for all the new stuff. My town is rank B, some work has to be done still ;) Regarding localization, I play in french and there are chunks of untranslated dialog that pop up here and there. I don't care much, but they surely need to fix this. Thank you for the video!

I've never had crashing issues, but over the weekend I found that I was unable to get through one day without a crash. Obviously frustrating since I've played the same day 3 times. Not sure if it's due to a recent update, or just where I'm at in the game (Spring, year 2). Anyone else having these issues?

I started having crashes within 10 mins of starting every day. I'm on PS5. I went to system settings, turned off HDR and set it to performance mode. Not one crash since and that was a month ago.

I don't get why the hat thing is so hard to do, one way to do it IS to model each hair with each hat individually, but there's also a way to make a mesh that will adapt as many custom content creators for the sims do, since they cant model a hat to every single hair that exists in the sims world. Does anyone who actually know more about game modeling have any idea???

I do! Hairs on the Sims 4 actually have 3 different mesh (aka. visual model) files, with different "hat chops" each. One's the full hair, other is the hair squished and cropped at the top to accommodate a hat type, and the third is the same but the chop is made further down. This works because all hats in the game are made to fit those two hat chops or cover the hair completely. To implement this in Coral Island they'd have to add those two extra versions of every hair, adjust every hat to those predetermined positions, and script it so the hair changes shape according to the hat. I don't know exactly how much easier that would be than to remodel the hairs individually at this point in development

I'm also looking forward to all the new little features like the tourists, the extra activities and so on... makes it feel like a game you can just chill in, like Animal Crossing or Palia 🥰💛 I was also just curious as to whether you've ever played Stardew Valley and if you'd be willing to do a series ? One of my all time favorite cozy games 🥰💛

So many thoughts! First- Wow, the attractions look like so much fun! I just cannot get enough of the art style. Second, I wonder if the available dating spots are dictated by the person you are taking on a date? Could that be why some spots are grayed out? I'm disappointed that the children updates are happening until last. As a mother, having a child in game that I can't interact with and I'm supposed to just leave lying in a crib 24/7 bugs me. I know the spouse interacts with the baby, but it still bugs me. I think I'm going to start a new game and turn down parenthood just to avoid feeling creeped out leaving my baby in a crib while I'm doing all the other stuff. Even if we just had a baby backpack that magically affixed itself to us when we left the house that would help.

The new costumes look Palia inspired to me, I must admit I would like something a little more “elegant tough” somewhat like the girl from the Smiles group to wear when fighting in the caves. A leather waistcoat with a hat to give a bit more of an Indiana Jones vibe! The savannah section is what Im looking for, plus being able to visit other islands, hopefully unique ones. I love exploration more than anything else.

This is exciting however I really hope they fix the crashing on xbox. Mine crashes everyday when played at a slower speed, less crashes when played with a faster day. I love Coral Island but it’s almost unplayable and I’m looking into other farming games until they fix this

This looks great, but are they going to fix the problem with being able to decorate inside the home, I still can not put new furniture into the house because when I try and pick up a piece from the storage to place it won't let me.

OMG this is so amazing, I cannot wait! I hope they do have a bug fixing team though. You can see those new furniture's in game already but they are unusable and cost only 10 coins. I bought some, just in case I can use them once the prices change hehe. I love the hat options. I've been saying this forever. One more male presenting and one more female presenting but all can be used by anyone.

Normally I would be looking at the Steam announcements page but Sarah is an exception since this is much better than reading it in 5 min. Literally forgot its been three months since the last major update.
