Well it's official Coraline is no longer a kids movie

I feel like coralines mum is really sketchy and she knows something, almost like she is connected to the beldam. Firstly she has that key to the door and she knew EXACTLY which key it was when first opening the door even though in that drawer there were hundreds of keys. And she actually opened the door ripping the wallpaper of her new house. She is reluctant to answer questions about the door after locking it AND she hides the key. Why would you hide a key knowing the door is blocked off anyway, surely you would just throw the key away as it’s not needed? And if she’s trying to hide it from coraline they why hang it from the ceiling? Anyone could easily get that, she could have taken it with her. I might be wrong but it just seems a bit sketchy to me.

Remember how the cat says the beldam hates cats? Maybe she hates cats because vermin takes the form of a cat and he's why she is trapped here in the first place. Just an idea

One problem. The cat's eyes are blue however in the brightened image they look green, so it could be just a weird brightening side effect

so did u guys notice the WAREHOUSE near the pink palace it also appears in the other world. remember when vermin says that "she only creates wat she knows wat would impress you" coraline never went into the warehouse but its there in the other world... idk wat but that says something....

dunno if this has been said before but Wybie says at the beginning of the film that if you were to fall down the well, you could see stars in the middle of the day. Notice that it is always night time in the other world even when Coraline visits during the day. This could be hint to the well being a portal to the other world.

So i was just watching tim burtons mightmare before christmas, and although tim burton did not have anything to do with coraline, henry selick was involed with both movies. In Sally's song there i a black cat that look very similar to the cat in coraline. The strangest part, there appeared to be no evidence that this cat was dead. And since halloween is more of a realm instead of a place for the dead. Maybe its the same cat, the cat who can travel to different "universes"

2019 : Coraline: Part 37

Wow! I just watched Coraline again and I discovered something in the tunnel scene when coraline was going back to save her parents. This may be totally out there and could be easy debunked, but I’m gonna say it anyways. After the cat changes back into vermin, he talks about how coraline is walking into the other mothers trap and suggests that coraline play a game with her. Something that came to my mind was this:why would vermin help her? It would be reasonable for mr. lovat to help, but not vermin . And why would vermin be so pleased at the fact that his food(the other mother) was gone, after she died and the key was dropped down the well? That’s when it hit me. Vermin probably knew when he suggested the game to coraline that this would cause her to escape, leading to the death of the other mother. And he’s happy about it. The other mother is VERY old and vermin has likely gotten tired of her, like a kid gets tired of eating leftovers. Perhaps this is just one of his plans. Maybe he wants to get rid of the old hag and get fresh meat(coraline). After all, with the other mother being gone, he’ll need a new puppet and who better than coraline. She is a child and is FRESH and new. He also already knows her personality and her ways, likely making it easy for him to control her. Maybe it was his plan all along. Maybe the other mother has served her time and it’s time for a change. This just makes vermin(the other world) sound so much more evil and cunning. This could be wrong but I honestly don’t care because I’m just too hyped at the moment! Corey OUT!

My only issue with there being two souls in the cat is the end scene with the cat on the sign. He's very content, purring and stretching before he disappears. I guess you could say that it's Vermin, and he's maybe happy that there's a new plan to get Coraline, but you for sure can't say it's Mister Lovat because there's no noticeable reaction from soul-switching before he disappears.

I think that their are more children missing then the ones we see when coraline meets the three ghost children. Reason I think this is because in the tunnel you can see a red leather looking glove, two pairs of different shoes, the toys and a pair of glasses 👓 and maybe a another body part other then the blue boy and a cocoon at the end of the tiny door. Just a theory. Also ever since coraline went through the door the trees that you can see from her bedroom gets closer?

Ooh. A thought. If Coraline is going to replace the Beldam (as you suggested), what if Coraline actually is the Beldam? No one said this world needed to exist at the same time as our world. What if the Beldam is a future version of Coraline, who was drawn back into the world at one point in the future. She enters the world again, curious about the world or wanting to destroy the Beldam once and for all, and finds it empty. She becomes trapped. What she doesn't realize is that the world is empty because time has looped. The Beldam died and time is going in a circle in the other world. Once she's trapped, she goes insane or something (yada yada plot device) and starts luring in children. Eventually, thanks to the looping time of the other world, she lures in the past Coraline from the real world. She fails to capture Coraline and dies. Then real world Coraline enters the world again, trapped in a never ending loop. That would explain why the gardens are shaped like Coraline's face even though she's never lived there before. The garden also looks like the Beldam (and I would also note that the Beldam's spider form still looks similar to Coraline). Maybe she didn't change her appearance to look like the mother but was actually showing her true form: an older Coraline stuck in a time loop. I'm not sure how the garden connects (because of timelines and stuff) but think it's interesting.

Could you do some researches about the dream she saw after she closed the door , why is it the background of the "Starry Night" painting by Van Gogh , and also the carpet in front of the apartment where two ladies live says No whisteling or smth like this. Can this have a secret meaning ? When I was younger my mom used to tell me to not whistel at night because its like a call for the demons ... it can make sens I guess

What about the fairy ring? Could fairies have trapped the entity before the Beldam was lured into it's lair? I see too many theories not do continuous details on the fairy ring when I think it's an essential part of the story. Great new theory.

This is the only time I'll ever say this. (I'm guilty already) The movie is better than the book Great. I'm a book nerd. Now other book nerds are attacking me.

Recommendation: consider that wybie does not exist in the books neither does the doll. I have a feeling that it could lead into a new theory of mr. Lobat (not sure if that's how you write it) and the other cat. Maybe a reason why they felt the need to have them included in the film.

Edit: I forget if you've mentioned this already, but maybe Vermon the cat targeted Coraline to lure into the Other World because Wybie's grandmother wanted to keep Wybie safe? Remember when you said that the grandmother let Coraline's family in the Pink Palace to protect her grandson by sacrificing Coraline? Maybe the cat was originally targeting Wybie, hence why Wybie mentioned that it "wasn't his cat, but he sometimes feeds him", and the cat comes to his window and brings him dead things (typical cat behaviour). But his grandmother noticed, so she tries to shoo away the cat, and Wybie has to feed the cat in secret because he thinks his grandma is just being paranoid about wild animals. Idk if you already mentioned this, or if this even makes any sense, but I just came up with this while watching the end of this video. I'm also wondering: if Wybie's grandmother is so scared of the Other World, why does she stay in the Pink Palace and keep Wybie there? He mentioned that she owns the Pink Palace, so why would she own a practically haunted house? Wybie also said that she "won't rent to people with kids" and that he was surprised she let Coraline's family move in, but he's not allowed to talk about it, so maybe he actually knows why his grandmother is scared but doesn't want to sound crazy. The grandmother is probably scared of the Other World taking away other families' kids, but why did she let Coraline and her family move in? I might be rushing or thinking too hard, but if you happen to make another Coraline Theory (I hope you do), do you think you can think about these questions? I'll try to see if I can think of my own answers as well. Again, I don't remember if you've already talked about these questions, but if not, they can be something to think about. Thanks! :)

Just discussing a few things with the corridor. With the book, the corridor is a dark hallway with an average sized door; whilst with the movie, the corridor is a tunnel with a smaller, more cupboard like door. And with the book, the corridor is described as the separate entity, being the one older than the Beldam (and so the Other World), not the Other World. In the graphic novel adapted from the book, the corridor has a swirling fog amidst a complete black space - likely an artistic addition, but it could that the corridor is simply the conduit between the real world and the Other World, which was made more recently instead - or as the Cat/Vermin says in the book, "Made it, found it, what's the difference?" Speaking of the Cat/Vermin, in the book, he also says that the corridor is "not a good place to be in", suggesting he is afraid of it, rather than being it himself. With the book, the corridor also is described as having walls of "fine downy fur", moving "as if it were taking a breath" (which could also link back to the throat idea of the well). Gaiman also further alludes to the corridor being more of a mouth than a throat: "This time what she touched felt hot and wet, as if she had put her hand in somebody’s mouth, and she pulled it back with a small wail."

I have a theory on Coraline’s friends in Michigan and how the beldam knew about them, on the first night in the real world when Coraline went to bed she picked up a photo of the 2 friends right next to her bed the little Coraline doll was sitting on a chair and since the beldam spies on Coraline trough the little dolls button eyes she might have seen the picture Coraline was holding and reproduced it in the other world .

What the actual living shit? This theory went deeper than anything I've ever seen! Also, as additional proof at 4:14 there are two sorta visible dark lines below the "eye" that, by taking it as a point of reference, matches the proportions for the dark lines to be a cat's front legs.

Okay here is my opinion on this, so no one has ever given as much thought on what happened to the REAL parents? The other father and other wybie helped coralline for some reason and it is making my head turn thinking about WHY? Maybe when the parents were taken, their souls were put inside of the other wybie, and other father’s body, so when they saw their daughter was in trouble, they needed to help her. Also, the other Wybie “died” or melted away, maybe that was because they were set free. Another thought, I believe the cat is the devil itself. If the other world is a body, maybe it is the devils body. as horrible as the devil is, it still has much power, making it powerful enough to create portals like the ones the cat came in and out of. It possessed a cat because the devil is commonly referred to as a cat if not a serpent. Just another thought. Possession is also a thing that is related to the devil. The other world/vermin, is the devil himself. Taking the souls of children because they are the most vulnerable, they don’t have much experience in life to be able to know who to trust. This makes them an easy target. To me, this being about the devil taking children’s souls, makes much sense
