The other artists I included that should be on Hot Ones was Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails, Lzzy Hale from Halestorm, Amy Lee from Evanescence, Steven Tyler from Aerosmith, Rob Zombie. If Rob Zombie was on an episode of Hot Ones, I also would have asked him about his horror movies he produces if I were the main guest on hot ones.

I love him for that. Going from something like Duality to Samantha's gone is so bizarre. Corey is the ONLY singer who got sober who still writes great music, besides Jacoby from P Roach, Hetfield, Eminem. But very few can top or equal their pre sober music. Theres just sober about that release that alcohol allow. Heroin will steal your soul, I know from 1st hand experience. Not a ride I'd advise anyone buying a ticket for. Theres nothing harder for addicts than being sober. I would rather have these guys here than in a grave. I met Corey in April, 2000 right before they exploded into the mainstream, waited like 3 hours in the cold after a Slipknot show. He and I bonded over Spider-Man comics (Corey was wearing a Spider-Man ring) and he told me that if a new Spider-Man movie was every made that he definitely wanted to be on the soundtrack as a solo artist - 2 years later his dream came true but it was with Stone Sour on the 2002 Spider-Man soundtrack.

You have pride in him because he was born in Des Moines? Just because you were born in the same state? The guy has lived the bulk of his life outside of the state. Even talks like an LA valley girl. That tribalism mindset is so weird. Like him being from the same sectioned chunk of land actually means anything to you. Tribalism is so fractal and ignorant. People will live in the same city and be tribal about parts of the city. East side is better than the West side. One high school is a rival of the other. You route against other teams from the same state because they aren't "yours". That mindset carries through states, and then countries. Where's that "pride" for your statesman when you're in traffic and a guy cuts you off and you get pissed? You can't claim Corey, a guy who you don't even know as some type of prideful figure just because he was born on a chunk of land he didn't even choose to be born on. And then intentionally chose to leave. If you're so tribal, you should consider him a traitor. Corey himself has trashed the exact mindset you're talking about.
@Bolverine
@Bolverine 3 жыл бұрын
@@closinginonclosure. He was born and raised in Iowa. Unless you were born in Iowa, you wouldn't know the significance huh? We look out for OUR own. Nothing tribal about being proud of home-grown neighbors. Push your perception and ignorance somewhere else.
@closinginonclosure
@closinginonclosure 3 жыл бұрын
@@Bolverine "We look out for OUR own". Haha. You say that like it's out of the ordinary. Do you honestly think Iowa is unique in that regard? Do you honestly think there's some bond because people are born on a several hundred square mile section of bordered land with a name attached to it? Corey left that state a LONG time ago. Also, do you also feel the same about the murderers and horrible people that came from the state? Or do you just pick and choose who you want to attach yourself to, based on how prideful it makes you feel? It's a tribal mindset whether you want to admit it or not. People don't choose where there born. Someone could move from Europe today and birth their child in an Iowa hospital tomorrow. It means absolutely nothing. We're all just human. Some good, some bad. Some talented on areas others aren't. But to act like being born in the same area has any representation of the other people in state means nothing. If your neighbor murders a guy, it's no reflection on you. If your other neighbor becomes POTUS, it's no representation on you. Accept that.

As a kid in the 90’s I didn’t grow up with a male figure in my life. I lived with my mother and grandmother my entire childhood and into my 20’s. Because of that I only really listened to what they did because that’s what I was exposed to. So it was slot of pop, disco and oldies. Which was weird because my mom grew up listening to guns and roses, Def Leppard, Ozzy etc but unfortunately she never exposed me to that. So when I was a kid I listened to what ever was on the radio. Which happened to be stuff like Brittany Spears, Backstreet Boys etc. then one day in 1999 I heard Slipknot’s Wait and Bleed. Up until the point in my life I’ve never heard anything like that or anything metal in general. Changed my life forever. 11 Slipknot live shows later and a Slipknot tattoo later I’m as big of a fan as I ever was. Met Corey multiple times and every time he was great.

All I can say is that Slipknot goes balls to the wall on their music video shoots. I (and my family) was in their video for “All Out Life,” off the last album. It was insane. We shot in Oct 2018, but the album didn’t come out until almost a year later. I’ve been in and seen a bunch of shoots, but this was like a full-blown action movie. Huge crew and movie cameras, creepy ass warehouse, full suits/masks for us, blood spraying, insane pyrotechnics (that we were standing over lol) in a school bus that we moshed around in, and then they blew it up at the end. We all went to bed as soon as we got home that day. We were spent, but it was such a cool experience.

When Corey said he drank 2 beers and felt like he drank 3 whiskies the next day, that is exactly what happens to me when I drink and that's why I quit. That's your body's way of telling you to stop.

mee too. well, i’ve never been a big drinker-i can’t physically do it. i drink 2 mikes hard lemonades and either i am ready to go to sleep or i throw up. granted-i’m 5’3 and 90 lbs. however i know there are small girls who can drink. doesn’t matter tho-people getting drunk is not my scene. i do wonder if i’ll ever be able to have a few glasses of wine like an adult or what. guess not.

@@hughmungus431 dude the last time I had a beer(just one beer) just to enjoy a nice beverage during a meal, I immediately regretted it because it made me feel like shit for the rest of the day. Just ONE BEER did that. I felt extremely fatigued and tired like I just drank poison(which is essentially what beer is)

@@lillinsey100 I can never just enjoy 1 or 2 beers. If I'm going to drink, I have to go all out or it's just going to make me wanna take a nap. But when I do go all out, sure it's fun in the moment. But the next day I have a brutal headache that basically feels like I have a brain tumor, and I have to smoke weed just to help my stomach feel better. Not worth it. So glad I quit. At a certain age you just have to give up that party life, or you'll end up bloated with a bunch of serious health problems.

I’m a somewhat new slipknot fan, I’ll be 21 this year and my brother is 34. He’s seen slipknot many times and always had his stereo blaring, even to go to sleep. I never understood the music when I was younger, I’d make fun of my brother because it was just screaming to me. Seeing the posters all over his room always peaked my interest tho, I’d stare at them in awe and the pictures of models he had taped to his wall😂Back in December I really dove deep into slipknot, like really deep. It was like bumping into an old friend I hadn’t heard from in years. I never tuned into any of their music before, but I recognized almost all of the sounds and lyrics because it was played throughout my childhood. Now I have vivid memories, memories I had totally forgot about, of my brother n I wrestling, playing video games, arguing, just hanging out with slipknot playing in the background. My brain forgot about them because they weren’t that important I guess, SlipKnot brought them back, even though they’re pretty simple memories of just being brothers, they mean the world to me and now I’ll never forget because of the music. Thank you, Sid, Joey, Paul, Chris, Jim, Craig, Shawn, Mick, Corey
