I've just binge-watched 2 years worth of classic Corrie at a fairly crap point in my life. I stumbled across it on KZfaq after too many wines about a week ago. Thank you ProfessionalGun66 for the quality uploads of a British show that reminds us all of when Corrie was unmissable. Keep 'em coming. xx

@TheMeeja
@TheMeeja Жыл бұрын
@@Milarkimilarki Peter was openly gay and was caught exposing himself to another man in public. Bear in mind that in the 1980s the world was nowhere near as liberal as it is today when it comes to homosexuality and equality. Corrie producers stood by him. He was caught again later with what Peter suspected was a sting operation. The investigations and publicity that followed took its toll on Peter's health.

R. Brian couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. I wish he'd backflip his way right out the door. And Gail's character fluctuated between whiney nag, ickle baby voiced child, and self righteously angry, flouncy outbursts. Not a redeemable quality in sight. She also had a face like a muffin.

I listened to an interview with Madge Hindle the other day - she’s still going strong. Said she & Bryan Moseley thought the Renee & Alf relationship was good but that Podmore & others in the cast didn’t think it worked. She said that Bryan was disappointed she was written out because he wanted Alf to have a lasting and happy relationship. She said she’s still good friends with some including Thelma Barlow and that her young daughter hated seeing her on screen death. I think it’s a shame they wrote Renee out. She was more interesting than Alf!

It's interesting that this outdoor set has a real viaduct that people can go through. I don't remember the second outdoor set, which would have been from 1982, from what I remember ever having one. And Grape Street was a real residential street in Manchester from what I've read. So why didn't Granada keep the real houses and just build half front facades?
