My only issue with asking for help is I have asked plenty of times throughout my career and was shamed for it in the past. I had a manager tell me: the information is there, a lot of what I had to do to succeed was self taught and I had to take time to learn things my self.

It's definitely you. Millions of black women across America work fulfilling successful jobs. We've had 2 back female vice presidents. Oprah is a successful black woman. Beyonce is a successful black woman. No one is targeting you or paying attention to you on the level you think they are. Maybe try looking inward as to the cause of your problems.

Black males in leadership are also problematic. Let’s not forget colorism and “pretty politics” at play as well. The unfortunate thing is my company optically looks very diverse. The leadership/power structure is still “white” (arab/white-identifying) and very male-centered culturally. It’s been hell and not going to get better. I thought it was for a brief moment… but nope. Pretty evident it’s new leadership, same bs. Definitely heading out at this point (6 years late), and exploring lawsuit on the way. It’s still sad and infuriating; I enjoy my work. There’s a grieving you go thru realizing and accepting what’s going on and then deciding enough is enough. It’s like a toxic relationship that should’ve ended much sooner.

I have corporate advice for black women too. How about NOT showing up to work with an attitude and demeaning people for trying to make the best of their day. If people smile and are happy, you deem them "sell outs" and "suck ups". But most people are just trying to make money in peace. If you want to show up to work with an attitude every day, then do it. You're free to decide. But just stop blaming the world when you dont get opportunities or dont get trusted to go into positions of responsibility and more money. Put it like this, if your money hung on the balance of hiring someone who's willing to work and learn, OR a person who gets an attitude whenever you need them to do the thing you hired them to do, which would YOU pick for YOUR business. No one owes you anything. Everyone is just trying to survive. No one is paying attention to you and youre not some special dynamic of the workplace. Its going to continue to run like a billion dollar machine whether or not your feelings are hurt.

this seems very specific and you clearly had a bad experience with one or more women of color. I cant really say much here expect you should talk to someone about this resentment you harbor.
