I have corporate advice for black women too. How about NOT showing up to work with an attitude and demeaning people for trying to make the best of their day. If people smile and are happy, you deem them "sell outs" and "suck ups". But most people are just trying to make money in peace. If you want to show up to work with an attitude every day, then do it. You're free to decide. But just stop blaming the world when you dont get opportunities or dont get trusted to go into positions of responsibility and more money. Put it like this, if your money hung on the balance of hiring someone who's willing to work and learn, OR a person who gets an attitude whenever you need them to do the thing you hired them to do, which would YOU pick for YOUR business. No one owes you anything. Everyone is just trying to survive. No one is paying attention to you and youre not some special dynamic of the workplace. Its going to continue to run like a billion dollar machine whether or not your feelings are hurt.

Well, just based on my decades of observation, no one is the enemy of the black person more in corporate America than the black person. It's always "Ra ra! Yea girl, you go!" ... until a black woman goes and actually succeeds... then the other black women are "I don't need to sleep around to get ahead"... or "I don't have to kiss the white man's a*** to get ahead". No one will put a successful black woman down faster than a black woman.

A black person in leadership shouldn’t be HELPING another black person get to the top. Wth. Why don’t we understand that when we do that we’re effectively doing the same exact thing that white people are doing. We should be trying to stop that trend regardless of race not doing the same thing they’re doing. Promote whoever is QUALIFIED and who deserves the position not because that’s your “home girl” or because she’s black. Cmon now 🤦🏿‍♂️

I interviewed with a company that was requesting employees use personal laptops. Pretty sure i didn’t get that job bc i couldn’t get past that… like their data was in the field and they couldn’t get it back in some cases. Probably for the best I didn’t get that one

Ok. Its not easy becoming a CRA. From a UK perspective. 1. You need a undergraduate in health sciences. 3 years 2. Do a masters in a clinical science. 1 year. 3. In University, work in phlebotomy for example, get some health work under your belt. 4. Post Uni, get yourself a position in any clinical trials post, 12 to 24 months, you'll go on multiple courses for example GCP. Do anything that will highlight your working clinical background. 5. Push your CV/Resume to as many pharmaceuticals, Clinical start ups as possible 6. Get yourself through the door as a junior CRA. After about 6 years , from 18 to 24 Years of age, including your basement clinical research work, you may, with a bit of luck, have that first step as a junior CRA, earning 35k(gbp). Another 2 years will give you the platform to move on, CRA2. Earning 50k(gbp) plus. By the time you are 30 years of age, more openings, more money. Its not easy, no shortcuts, you need to be diligent in your work. There is no room for mistakes. A very rewarding career hopefully awaits. GL

I just watched your video and respectfully disagree with some of your points. As registered nurses, many of us serve as public health providers. We address many health issues while working directly with patients at the bedside. Furthermore, nurses who work as case managers continue to care for patients once they are back in the community, directly contributing to public health. Additionally, many nurses pursue master's degrees in public health. It's essential to recognize that nursing encompasses much more than just bedside; we encompass the public's health.

I'm starting my first corporate job. About the first rule, I just don't understand. People always say "Don't trust your coworker" but that means your coworkers shouldn't trust YOU. I know people can be petty, I'm not naive, but I also believe that you get what you give and that we need to change this "trust no one" and "us vs them" mindset. I don't know, maybe I am a bit naive or just ignorant of the corporate world. It's tough. I grew up in the streets where this us vs them mentality completely destroyed relationships and communities. I don't want to be like that anymore. It's so frustrating that these things are also in the corporate world.

Reason I am gerring my Master: > I know there I want to specialise in > My Master broaderns my knowlege in the field and provides new skills which my bachelor was lacking > It is free (I am from EU) > Master studies acts as medium for quicker and easier networking, interships and possibility for my future career. > Lastly but silly - I want to be a student again

How do you blame people for job hopping? Should be mandatory in the US for a pay raise. Or pension CASE CLOSED. What if we based wages off of age Reach a certain age your salary goes up to a certain level. Productivity still gets promoted but you cant stall wages. Everyone goes up. And the old saying that this promotes laziness is a joke. If everyone goes up WHO CARES.. It's all about the Benjamin's in the end.

Glad I found this video. I got to the final stages of the interview process, cultural fit interview. I literally fetl like I nailed and it and was so confident I got the job, Was stunned when I got the rejection. It hurts, but it is there loss. I always tell myself that. I know my skill set and what I can do I am not going to let a company make me feel bad about myself. They made a mistake. Always tell yourself that!

When networking, should the LinkedIn messages and emails occur during business hours or outside of business hours? My current struggle is that I am busy doing stand-up comedy at night which occurs right after business hours so it is tricky to network during this time. Is it advisable to network during lunch hours or during afternoon breaks?
