As a jackal and history nerd, Mrs. Jefferson never asked her husband why the Hemings children had her husband's eyes. Martha Jefferson died in 1782. The "relationship" between Sally Hemings and Thomas Jefferson started in 1787. Scholar Annette Gordon-Reed has written an award wining book on the Hemings and would be a great guest. And yes. I proudly ruin dinner parties by making book suggestions. That is what we jackals do!

That was one of the points I made elsewhere in the thread. The Cop was one of the writers and said that it was about the support that his local YMCA provided him and his friends with a place to hang out. He felt that it was supporting young black men and wanted to get that across. But there were other writers who brought their own interpretations, as well as the producer who wanted to get across the homoerotic nature of the YMCA and also its use in the late 70s as a cruising area in a time when discreet ways to meet other men who have sex with men were few. 😁

Splinter named the turtles after his favorite artists, so it is possible Leonardo could have been called da Vinci by those that knew him best, making that Jackal wrong. The issue is their bandana color as they were originally all red and only their weapons distinguished who was who...except to Splinter, who named them and could tell them apart. I'm more sorry you had to read this than my compulsion to write it.

Correction: Martha Jefferson would not have been around to question Thomas Jefferson about Sally Hemings’s children. Martha died in 1782 and Sally did not have her first child until 1789, when she was 16 and Thomas Jefferson was 46. Lots of widowed slave owners did this, including Martha and Sally’s father (they were half sisters).

Mostly I love corrections, this felt like a pet project for Seth that morphed into a recurring sketch. Thank you so much for the thousands of hours of content you all have created, and the thousands more to come up with those.
