I love how Corrections has changed from Seth apologising and making excuses for the mistakes to openly flipping the jackals off in disdain.

As an outider to your Country, I accept Seth as an honest Progressive perspective .. But Seth is so much more .. tho he may at ttimes speak others words ,, Seth is true to Equality and Democracy .. and soon, that is what will matter .. Flow gently and practice love, and not hate .. for hate gains nothing but hate .. as love begats love .. Rest easy within. And always know that each of us is more than worthy of love and being loved. "Flow placidly amidst the noise and Haste" .. The Diserata .. Namaste ..

Yes, over time, the tone and content of the "Corrections" segment on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" has evolved. Initially, the segment focused on correcting any factual errors or mistakes made during previous episodes of the show. However, as time has passed, the segment has become more playful and irreverent, with Meyers sometimes using it to mock and ridicule his critics and detractors. Meyers often uses humor and sarcasm to address any criticisms or inaccuracies made about him or his show, and this may be what you're referring to as him "flipping the jackals off in disdain." Some viewers enjoy Meyers' witty and acerbic approach to addressing his critics, while others may find it confrontational or inappropriate. Nonetheless, it has become a hallmark of Meyers' show and his comedic style.

True story: in the mid 90's, one of my best friends had a roommate that drove an early 1970's Caddy hearse as her car, and she was also one of those people that called herself a vampire (they were (maybe still are?) sort of a cult, sort of a club, sort of a group of posers who chose identifying as vampires as what they decided to belong to), and anyways, I was at my friend's house and she tells this long assed story that was supposed to be funny about how she was behind a bloodmobile in traffic, and they both made a left turn at the same place. Then she laughed her ass off. I was like, I don't get it... Then she runs through like the bullet points of the story, I still don;t get it, then she says, "a vampire following a bloodmobile..." -and I'm all, "oh yeah, I'm sorry, I totally forgot that you think you're a vampire." Errr....guess you had to be there

Corrections has been the highlight of my week, essentially for the first 3 years of medical school. That very first episode came out right around the start of school, and every friday on the commute home, corrections was there. From like the second episode it just became this giant evolving inside joke between seth and us. Im sure to people who hadnt been there every week as they aired, it just wasnt that funny, but to those of us who watched every single one as they aired, it was unlike anything I have ever been a part of. I am about to graduate in a few months, and be a physician. This show was a huge part of what made me feel human during that time. Especially doing medical school during a pandemic, after working as a nurse at the start of the pandemic. It was a ROUGH few years, especially as a 36yr old med student, married with kids, bills to pay, living in a world that seemingly just refuses to admit ignorance of anything. Its oretty annoying being a nurse or doctor highly trained in human biology, immunology, virology, in the middle of a once in a century pandemic, while a not insignificant portion of the country refuses to live in reality. So thank you Seth for keeping me sane, and delivering week in and week out. I really hope the strike gets handled and you return to us asap.

In the spirit of caskets vs. coffins -- at 9:10 you used the terms "cemetery" and "graveyard" interchangably. Graveyards are (generally small) plots adjacent to churches, while cemeteries are (generally much larger) independent plots. The correct umbrella term is "burial ground."

Pigeon actually have a decent amount of intelligence compared to what normally people think, they're one of the few species that can recognize themselves in a mirror and they're pretty good at knowing where they are in relation to their home to get back.
@FausterZ
@FausterZ Жыл бұрын
Importantly, pigeons are not known as rock doves. A rock dove is either a pigeon form the British isles, or the common ancestor of all pigeons. Rock doves are an invasive species in the United States. Passenger pigeons, are not rock doves, they were native to the U.S., but went extinct when we ate them all. But, their closest living relative, also not a rock dove, the Pacific Band Tailed Pigeon is a much larger and more beautiful species of pigeon that still survives in the Western U.S. It is not known how many band tailed pigeons still survive, but hunting this species of pigeon (not rock dove) was made illegal when they became a threatened species.

If the vertical beams are U shaped and the horizontal beams are L shaped, the rivets could be for a plate that joins the two members. Plates like this are actually really common in this kind of structure when used in buildings. In this particular case the lack of rivets elsewhere suggests it might be part of a repair. The other possibility is that the entire structure is fake.

Cemetery and Graveyard are not interchangeable terms as a graveyard is attached to a church or other house of worship. Incidentally, this means that for most graveyards no motor vehicle would be required to relocate the deceased from the memorial to the burial.

The issue with eclipses is that the sun is usually too bright to look at directly. During an eclipse, because it’s mostly covered, you can look at it without instinctively closing your eyes or looking away, and your pupils will be more dilated, and that will allow the focused light from the part of the sun that is visible to burn your retina. During totality, when only the corona is visible, you can look at the eclipse just fine. At sunrise or sunset, you can look directly at the sun because it is dimmer due to all the atmospheric scattering. And the same goes when there are thin clouds that mostly obscure the sun, but you can still make out the shape. In that case it’s still maybe not a great idea, because less of the high-energy UV light is scattered away, but not nearly as bad as during an eclipse.

@@lawrencedoliveiro9104 Welder. I have burned my eyes a few times over the years and it's excruciating! Burning pain for at least 24 hours, can't sleep and every eye movement feels like there's 80 grit sandpaper on the inside of your eyelids. It can do serious long-term damage if you don't use proper protection equipment. In my case and others at the shop it was "just a quick spot" so we would (stupidly) just turn our head instead of grabbing a helmet.

My biggest issue was how we were *taught* to not look at the sun, we were never told why, we were told, "You *can't* look at the sun." After being told this, a bunch of my school friends went outside to prove the adults wrong and we proved you could look at the sun. To this day I don't know if it was a bad idea or not 😂

@@EmpyreanLightASMR When I was a little kid my mother told me not to stare into the sun, so once when I was six, I did. At first the brightness was overwhelming, but I had seen that before. I kept looking, forcing myself not to blink, and then the brightness began to dissolve. My pupils shrunk to pinholes and everything came into focus and for a moment I understood.
