thankyou for this video, i dont know much about cars. my husband is stripping a corvette c6 for parts to build a super car. He left me in charge of removing a few things including the fuel tanks. thanks to your help i was able to help him and make him proud :)

I just replaced the fuel pump on my c6 a few months ago. I just always figured the car smelled like gas to be cool. What an adventure. A word to the wise: buy the crossover lines before you start the job. You will break them. Also, jumper the fuel pump to empty the tanks. It's a lot easier to drop an empty tank than a full one.

So basically if I want to replace my c6 fuel pump, I would only just need to remove and drop the driver side one only?

So the passenger side is under much less stress and not a common failure or fault point in a stock system? So not necessary when replacing fuel pump?

Yea it’s a venture system so the pump on the drive side pulls from the passenger side first than the drive side no need to ever touch the passenger side really

I am changing my fuel pump in drivers side, but cat get crossover lines seperated from fuel pump side. Any ideas

I had to pull on mine to the point I thought they would break to get them to come out I dread having to do it every time and I have to do it again this summer to put dual pumps in

ok i have the cross over in the tank but can't get it the last half inch or so, how did you do it?

I disconnected the crossover tube but the fuel lines won't separate. any ideas how to disconnect

Hello, I just bought a 2008 corvette and happed that the car was 1/2 tank full, so when I fill it up I notice smelling strong gas, the mechanic told me that it was leaking from the driver side, so he replaced the fuel pump, according to him it was from the top part of the fuel pump, but the gas gauge didn't work , he suggest replace the right pump. because both had to communicate or work together, do you think that's is true. Thanks.

They do need to communicate but if it stopped working when he did the pump my guess would be pump side is messed up

the passenger side fuel pump is a mechanical pump that is driven off of fuel pressure of the main drivrer side pump. it pumps into the main, left side tank only. no real communication going on

Hey I replaced my sending unit in the passenger side plumbed Mf plugge everything back up now gas just goes from left tank to right tank and just stays over there do you have any clue what that could be the pump good it’s just not pumping gas to the fuel line to the rail

Cross over tube did seat right it’s off a Venturi system so if it didn’t seal and won’t pull from the other tank

@@NRMotorsports I figured it out when I replaced unit I broke the tab that holds the top line in the tube in place so when I put it back together the collar locked but the top line was pushed back not sealing had to remove both tanks and test outside car to figure and see for my self thanks
