This video is a work-in-progress series. It took me more than 4 hours to sculpt the head and that is with 13 years of practice. It will take most of you far longer than 4 hours to do the same but this is not a tutorial as much as it is a sharing of knowledge. I trimmed the video down to 2 hours. I left the initial build-up phase in real-time because it is an important skill to learn to do as you move toward getting a realistic likeness of any character and that is something I think I can teach you in a short amount of time. I fast-forwarded through most of the fine detail work which took me 3 plus hours and that is not something I can teach in a short video, but I can give you tips on how to proceed with your own practice time because that is a huge part of perfecting how to add the fine details. But I did show the whole process overall just not in real-time. I will be making other videos this year doing several other character head sculpts and I will focus more on the finishing work in sections but I did go over a few things that will help as you progress. If you have questions you can leave them in the comments here or come find me on this channel's FB page. This is a WIP series but also a tutorial. / ooak-art-wit. .

Please don't listen to anyone who says we don't like watching the minute details! I learn so much watching you tweek the details and listening to you thinking out loud. Keep doing exactly what you're doing :)

Hey! I just discovered your channel by accident and I am very thankful for the content you put up! Don't listen to that survey about people wanting short videos - it is true, but only because most people just want to see videos for entertainment, not to actually learn. Us people who do actually want to learn love longer videos that show as much as possible and have talking to explain what is being done. So please don't stop, I love this kind of content. By the way, amazing sculpt. I hope to be as good as you one day!

Thank you for commenting. I appreciate the feedback. I am glad you like the videos. I may take some of the parts I fast-forwarded through and make them stand-alone videos. The sculpting of the eyebrows was already requested that way.

Hello Linda, thank you so much for this video and all the others you made. I learned an awful lot by watching your videos; some of them I watch over and over again to learn more (like the one about blushing a female head, painting is a big challenge for me:)). Good instruction videos have to be long if you seriously want to learn sculping. Thanks!!!!

Hi Linda , not sure if I've asked before, but doesn't the rubbing alcohol evaporate too quickly
@ooakartwithlindaE

Thank you for your question! It does evaporate quickly, but not so fast that the surface does not melt, and if you needed to melt more, just reapply. This is why I love the nail polish removed dispenser. It gives me easy access to more any time I need it.
