When a studio is adapting something and will stream it worldwide, they sometimes cut some romance or tone down some extreme to make it sellable and play safe. Remember there are 2 types of audience, ones that accepts and tolerates the author, and the "tourists" who are imposing their values and standards to anyone opposes. Overall i enjoyed the series and i accepted as the main focus is just farming and establish connections to his own people and neighbors.

The fact that they get really close once Tia joins but in the anime they still act distant and then bam a kid, that mainly why I picked up the manga instead

Most televised anime these days have trouble adapting the 'intimate' aspect of these types of harem anime. If this show gets a season 2, they should definitely show all the kids he has up to this point on the anime (at least 5-6). At least the High Elves made it clear they had the goal of rebuilding their race.

I think they'll just trying to get us to try to guess what's going to happen next and want to surprise us with what they show us and what they don't show us leaving it up to all imaginations to see if we can catch on to what they're up to but I agree it was confusing finding out that the vampire goes pregnant but there was no signs of any of that happening between them

You are right on point. I really like the anime but is very lacking in the romantic aspect that the books do elaborately write about. There are some hints here and there but that's there is. And the dude is a f'in stud. But the anime he acts like your average shounen protag, naiive and innocent.

I truly enjoy it…so much that I have rewatched it 4 times…it’s one of those series you just switch off your mind and enjoy!

I really like this anime and it's actually got me back into doing my garden again LOL. But I definitely agree with you on this I thought it was confusing and ridiculous on how kid friendly they made this show and it actually kind of went against the anime because of it, and like you said they didn't really have to show any of that stuff but the very least they could show you know them holding hands or hugging or kissing but you don't get any of that even the dude was surprised when she was announced that she was pregnant, he was like how did that happen😅 I don't know they really missed out on the opportunity for the romance part of it and the only excuse that I've come across as they wanted to make it kid friendly but they could have still done that with them holding hands and hugging be a kiss here and there but they didn't even do that. Hopefully the second season will improve on that.

I like this one. But to be honest, it would be better to read the manga adaptation. There's some stuff left out in the anime adaptation. That's when you go read the manga and compare the two. You kinda get frustrated with the anime adaptation. (yes i did watch the video) lol To me a harem is when a mc or fmc has more then one mate. So even if it's as little as 2, it's a harem.(for me at least) If they do a season 2, for me personally. It would be better to use a different studio. Side note for chat: go read the manga adaptation. lol

honestly they only hint at it in the anime, When Lulu Says to the angel that her body will not be able to handle it in ep 3, in the LT she and the MC had sex to seal the deal of him asking her to marry him. Later on in the Anime the Elves are found in his room which they built to sneak in and have sex with the MC, again they hint at it in the anime when he yells and they all pop out. They erased all of the romance and sexual comedy from the LT, and while still good, it really looses something when a character some how gets pregnant and its not shown why, at all, no hugging, no hand holding, no kissing...

Yes, you should watch. The manga is great. He has a massive harem, but they don't really show a lot about the romantic aspects. There are a lot of females with no males to continue their species. He seems to with a romantic relationship with the vampire, the angel, and a pair of dragons, and maybe a couple domons. I think he is close with a few of the elves and oni maids. The problem showing the romantic relation building is that the ladies manage the sleep schedule. The angels and vampires have never had children, in the history of their species, so this says about the quality of his gift to plant seed, so to speak. The elves are trying to rebuild and entire species, so romance doesn't really weigh heavily into their calculations. He doesn't really have much say in things. If they did a second season, they might explain that every night he has a different woman in his bed. He keeps trying to get more men in his village so they can help, but he ends up with young beastmen kids that would need a few years to age up, some dwarven men more interested in brewing alcohol, lizard men who aren't compatible with the women. Eventually they get some minotaurs, but they only mate with other minotaurs, and finally some young himan couples, but they all come as coupled pairs, so as the village chief with hundreds of single woman relying on him, he is their husband. They don't focus on the romantic aspects, because spelling things out too much could easily move it away from family friendly, and the writer is keeping things light. It focuses on things like growing more crops, how to expand the village to allow other groups in whole keeping it managable. His farming gift only applies to crops he grows, so to wants to make it so the village doesn't die out when he does because nobody can keep it going. A lot of the story also focuses on things like keeping the people entertained especially during winter months, holding festivals and competitions, exploring and such. The MC isn't the best at managing social interactions, and most of the important women is his life are at least hundreds of years old, effectively immortal or extremely long lived, and since the story focuses most on his growing village, months often pass by in a few panels, so the romance can be understood to take place off panels, and in the results (children). He tries to stay involved with the kids, but the women understand the somewhat unreasonable situation they've put him in by asking him to help rebuild their races, so they try not to be too much of a burden on him.

I liked it, I didn’t watch it for the harem aspect, but when she has a kid all of a sudden it caught me off guard. If you’re going that route commit to it. Show me the banter between partners, the awkward situation and stuff.

I really love this series. I feel it's contained as a single story, but it could have more for sure. They could have gone the Isekai Meikyuu route, but perhaps they wanted to keep it PG-13 😅

The harem in the anime was pretty close to the way it was presented in the manga. There's the one scene where the elves emerge from their hiding spots in the bedroom, which implies that they're all slapping. Other than that, it's mostly mentioned once and then assumed from then on. The most time spent on a relationship is...a spoiler since I can't remember if it was covered in the anime...but it has to do with the MC denying one of the characters before finally accepting.

it had a some stuff cut and move around but for a place to get interested in the series it was ok my guess the studio behind the anime was just playing it safe

The Farming Life wiki names 13 wives, so i guess all the rest are basically just concubines, non-romantically doing is duty to plow their fields. The 13 wives are the ones he eventually builds real relationships with.

I saw and liked the anime. I do hope if and when a season 2 comes about it goes a bit more into the source material.

The original, online manga is far superior. The published manga follows the anime and is just as watered down. The anime is fine if you're under 12, otherwise read the online manga.

Studio Zero-G censored the source material so much that they had to change the story which in turn messed it up. This should NEVER get a season 2. It NEEDS either a remake, or to be left alone.
