The power of the Gospel has the ability to resolve many unmet needs from childhood. Religion on top of trauma only adds a dysfunction on top of dysfunction. But when one really takes a deep dive into the love of God for yourself, and the command to let God change you, the results can be deeper than any therapy.

@@patrickmcdade5968 Interesting. What makes you respond to my post with such vitriol? What did I do to offend you? I know how my trauma in life (child of a mother with schizophrenia) was healed by a deep understanding my who I am in Christ. I have seen the misuse of religion and how damaging it can be. However, I know the love of Jesus that surpassed all understanding. I hope you find it as well.

This guy really should know that there is no placebo effect. Studies (if studies mean anything any more) show that placebo, and simply not processing people at all in any way, are equivalent. In other words, people tend to just get better if left alone.

Dam dude, Peterson's episode today deals with some things I was just rambling abt in these comments: He talks abt "the balance btw chaotic plentitude, and pointed order". I wanna glue together things I said abt the "State" in these comments with "chaotic plentitude" in that episode, and abt "Church," with "pointed order". (Around 58 mins, today's JP ep441). He also defines "meaning" as "a biological marker for the optimized balance of plentitude and focus". I said a different thing abt meaning in these comments, but I actually think it's mutually inclusive, and elaborative: I said it's a person's feeling of belonging within a group, communicated with shared behavioral/linguistic signifiers. However now I'm thinking, it's what I said, except also that meaning is found along this Petersonian spectrum, where I'm expanding his chaotic plentitude to entail the State in a society casting a wide net with shallow roots, and his pointed order to entail the Church in a society casting a narrow net with deep roots (or at least, those are the extremes, along a spectrum). I also want to suggest, that my "meaning" definition can further define a dynamic, incorporating also Peterson's definition: So I think that a "person's feeling of belonging within a group communicated with shared behavioral linguistic signifiers," like I said, which is also a "biological marker for the optimized balance of plentitude and focus," like Peterson said, is a point along this sociobehavioral spectrum, which involves a different optimal psychobiological calibration, for each individual person (some individuals will line up more than others, maybe that's your 'tribe,' in our sociological human ecosystem, like an animal 'pack' or something). I would argue, there's more/less reliance near either end of Peterson's spectrum (upon which I've superimposed this overlapping, coaligned axis of Church/State,) on a particular 'broad tribe' with 'shallow roots,' or a particular 'narrow tribe' with 'deep roots'. Now, we depart from the palatable, daytime tv version. Because next, I want to suggest that the 'deeper roots' involve a more complete expression of a, usually fairly uniform ethnic group's, genetically predisposed shared behavioral tendencies. In contrast, I'll suggest that 'shallower roots' involve a less complete expression of genetically predisposed behavioral tendencies, for subgroups and individuals with less relatedness and similarity to a society's primary culture. So the "meaning" is like, where a particular human organism sets the governor (the speed control on a car thing) or rly where it gets set for them by social pressure, to facilitate either a more or less complete behavioral exhibition of one's innate tendencies, for acceptance within the larger group, and for optimal alignment together with a particular micro-group within the larger group. Therefore some individuals, maybe more often newbie immigrants from some other place, will tend to lean more toward the "State" polarity of this continuum. Others, more toward "Church". Your most socially appropriate position of alignment, is most "meaningful".

Conservatives recognize and preserve "optimal pathways of living". The pathway requires Sacrifice. To sacrifice is to oppress oneself. Oppress yourself too much, can obstruct growth. Oppress yourself too little, oppression will find you. A 'balance' must be struck. To be liberal is, to be honest and seek truth. So, even the liberal must acknowledge optimal pathways exist and following them yields benefits. Now, a liberal will say, "well, we aren't required to follow the optimal path." Okay, fair enough. The liberal must be honest enough to accept responsibility for any ill consequences and burdens caused by straying from the Sacrifices. The moral of the story is, oppress yourself. Oppress yourself so nature or others don't feel compelled oppress you. That's the truth as I perceive it. Is there really another? 🐿

No, the residential schools did not cause harm. Rather, they gave the students the opportunities that Canadians had, allowing them to interact with the wider world, which they could never have done without it. The recent revisionism is bunk. Did bad things happen? Of course. But they happened at all schools, not just those. And certainly nothing as bad as what is described as mass murderer happened. Total nonsense.

All this naval gazing on hollow external characteristics in the education system is pathetic. These ideologues are working their own racism, sexism etc on the public and even globalising their own personal 💩. Its sad that young people are brought up with no common knowledge or given a solid foundation so that they are not possessed by these resentful fools in our education system. Navel gazing is the path to self destruction.
