Here's my idea for the movie -same premise basically -they all die in natural ways so it's a little confusing for them -they eventually find out about the demon and they bunker down, use one of their friends for bait, and get ready to kill it -they could use the priest or something -through out the movie "the final countdown" plays faintly until the last few moments

When I watched this the first time, I didn't realize for some reason that the ghost was supposed to look like the grim reaper, and thought he was just some ghost wearing a giant trash bag. It made the movie experience better, tbh

There is a movie called the VelociPastor about a pastor who gains the powers to turn into a velociraptor and one night a prostitute tells him to use it to fight evil and he does... look it up

The Double Dream has happened to me a couple of times though. It mostly happens when I realize I'm dreaming and the dream is very stressful and I'm like okay this sucks I'd like to tap out now so I try to wake up but instead I just lucid dream myself into waking up in my dream and it just continues into another stress dream.

I think an important piece of nuance was that the demon gets to kill people that avoid their fated death. The first chick was supposed to die in the car accident and the app allowed her to avoid that. The dude was supposed to die on the operating table but he was busy freaking out in the stairwell. I'd imagine beck was supposed to die fighting the doctor and the demon interrupted and she died on her fated time by injection. There might be a little more nuance on that last bit between death and the demon changing the rules but who knows.

Since it's an app, just watch an ad for 1 extra life duh.

Its like 90% a straight rip off of the far more popular final destination movies, they just replaced a person having a premonition with an app and even rip off the whole "i died and then came back to life to break the cycle".

If their “fate” is to die then and there, and this is assuming fate is a real thing in this universe, then they’d die from whatever choice they were to make, a demon just wouldn’t be necessary...

This movie really missed out on some horrifying scenarios involving the creeping dread of having too *long* to live. Like a character trying to break the curse by jumping off a building before it's their time, but Ozhin won't LET them die and they end up paralysed, unable to speak or move, for months or more... Or someone hacks the code to make themselves live until they're 100, and Ozhin says "You know what? Fuck it. Sure. No death until you're 100, prick." and the next day, their car runs off the road and crashes into a ravine where they're not likely to be found... and they physically can't die, so they have to live 70~ years in agony, trapped in the wreck, likely being eaten by vultures but *unable to die...* Or even something like a person being kidnapped and realising that their time remaining is too short to suggest they'll be rescued, but long enough for them to know they won't be killed straight away... Honestly, sounds like a moody anthology film or Junji Ito short story collection more than anything ^_^

While the screaming is annoying, I like the choice of making the app/phones becoming a literal banshee considering you only see and hear them when you are about to die.

Bizarrely in high school I wrote a short story with a very similar premise and payoff. But it was set in the early 1800s, so instead of an app it was an invention some drifter claimed to have made. And when the main character "payoffed" himself he stayed dead. It was my angsty teen version of a romanticism story about free will. Also it was called Death Clock.

The first death was actually suprisingly pretty strong. I like the fact that they showed the car as well to convey that she couldn't have escaped her destiny even if she tried.

Like when your name is written in the notebook. The idea of something that tells the characters when they're going to die can be really cool if it's used well. It also usually works better if it's more vague, like only telling people what day they'll die rather than the exact second.
