I have a set of Capri sockets that I have been using on an everyday basis for the last year and a half. Have beat the hell out of them in a heavy equipment environment no complaints all all

I like the ability to put a wrench on the Astro sockets. I’m getting those. Keep up the great work. 👊🏻👊🏻

i think it's vim that started making these socket adapters that go into a ratchet wrench and actually click in and won't fall out then you can put any socket on and i believe they started making actual sockets that click in to ratchet wrenches wich i think is super cool

I’ve got the Astro Nano 3/8 set and got the 1/2 on the way. I saw those Capri stubbies a while back and thought they looked nice. I also figured they were the same as Carlyle (pictures looked the same and they’re made in Taiwan), so I appreciate you clarifying they’re not. The other thing for me was the Nanos having that hex end that allows a wrench or Nano socket wrench to give it an extremely low profile. I don’t use them often, but they have come in handy a few times. Also, like you said, I e been having a hard time finding “killer” deals at Napa. They’ve got some ok ones right now (considering the be t handle ratchet for $60), but nothing like I’ve heard so many people say they’ve found.

Also, did you see Capri now makes mid length impact sockets? It’s only in 3/8 and I think you have to get the set (shallow, mid, and deep).

That’s what people forget and you got it that the Nano with the wrench or any 17 is the major advantage. Try it on a long 17 flex and get amazed

I just received my set of 1/2" metric stubby impact sockets yesterday and used one today to remove a crankshaft damper from a Cummins ISX motor... I used my Milwaukee 1/2" impact, the first gen I believe, had it a few years. I think 1000 or 1200 ftlb of torque. These 18mm bolts have been in there since the factory installed them in 2009. I used the stubby, because I did not want to loose any torque, as I knew these would be a real bear to get out. Yep, it was a bear. I used a Milwaukee 9 volt lithium battery, I had to tighten the bolts for a few seconds and then loosen, and they would break loose. I think roughly twenty of them, and I believe 150 ftlb or torque, or maybe 115 ftlb, I have it written down. Only telling you guys this so you know what I was doing... The Capri impact socket faired about like I thought it would, a bit rounded in a few spots, but it got the job done. I figure it has a use or two left in it for tough jobs like this. Regular usage, I would have to say it would have faired better. For what I paid, about what I expected. Would I purchase again, yep.

Cp, did you do a review on the Capri 3/8 drive impact set? You got to short, mid length, and deep in the set with a socket tray. Any way my question is what are the sockets like? I have to put together another tool box at work and thought I'd by the impact socket set. But I'm concerned they won't do double duty for the chrome. So many times a impact is to thick for a job and you need both chrome and impact. What are your thoughts

I enjoy your videos, but I'd like to add a constructive opinion. Pro tip: 99% of your American viewers will not know how to convert MM to inch, and or want to do so. What you are doing is making it difficult for them to try and understand the differences from one measurement to another. A person would need a calculator and a piece of paper to try figure out all of the metric equivalents. From what I've seen, there are a lot of mechanics who understand thousandths of an inch, but I'd be surprised if they knew metric better. And on top that, you have the ability to push a button on the vernier to switch between metric and inch. If you really want your non-American viewers to see mm, you should measure in inches and then press the mm button for them to see metric readings. As a machinist, I'm well versed in metrics, but I don't use it every day. However, if I need to convert a measurement, I know how to do it easily, but regardless, I think it puts a ding in that portion of your videos. Keep up the great work.
