Materials needed:
2ft. of 20 gauge or 22 gauge wire
small flat back glass marbles - clear shows crackle best
E-6000 glue
nail polish
nylon hammer
ring mandrel
wire cutters
chain nose pliers
Crackling the marbles can be done two different ways:
Inside oven:
Put marbles in oven at 500 degrees for 20 minutes. Don't use a non stick pan for this unless the pan is already in bad shape. Then drop marbles into ice water.
Stove top:
Put marbles on high in a stainless steel pan with a lid to keep in heat. Don't use a non stick pan for this unless the pan is already in bad shape. Bake the marbles for 10 minutes then drop marbles into ice water.

Just found this today, 22 Aug 22. I am 65 years old. When I was 7 my mother and I made the round marble type for me to sell to make money. Amazing how the same crafts come back around. Thanks for the memory.

Kudos to you for your creativity, concise, flowing instructions, avoidance at saying the same thing over and over, thriftiness and for NOT saying " you guys" "and um" incessantly and or talking about stuff that had nothing to do with what you were doing . Excellent presentation and delivery !!

i bake marbles and glass nuggets in the oven. I prefer to wear safety goggles and keep my distance as the glass can break. Once had a tiny peace of glass stuck in my eye and that taught me :-D Great tutorial!!!!

I'm a lampworker and enjoyed seeing your video especially for my lampwork cabochons. Always looking for ways to have less expensive items to have in my booth for teenagers. I may crackle some of those glass flat back marbles or I may use one of my own flat cabs. Thank you so much for this tutorial - especially the wire part!

You take time out of your busy day to make very thorough, very informative videos about your awesome talent and you're really good at both, but yet, below your videos, I always see people asking questions that you have already answered in your video. I think that's awesome that you don't seem frustrated by that, you just kindly answer their questions. You have talent, you have a great attitude, and you have a very calm voice which is perfect for teaching (a perfect teacher for anxious people.. lol) GREAT JOB ALESHIA! UPDATE: I have looked everywhere for "safe" wire. All the wire at Home Depot had warnings on them of cancer, birth defects, etc.. I had to end up getting the more expensive tarnish-resistant sterling silver wire at Hobby Lobby with no warnings (even the ring bases had warnings on them at Hobby Lobby).. buy hey, at least they gave me 40% off a jewelry tool kit and 50% off split rings, lobster claw clasps, spring rings, and ear wires < (all sterling silver with no warnings). That was great for me, being that I'm new to all this and the research and I started with no supplies. Hope this helps someone!

Just the tutorial we needed! I taught my sister how to make rings, and she loves it, but she cannot afford to buy the silver-plated ring bases. Loving her the way I do, she would get surprise packages with jewelry supplies from me. This will help keep my cost down, I will be making her some and then teach her how to make them, when I visit her in NY. Thanks much.

Gloria Borrero you do NOT want to use the wire advertised in this video not all wire's are safe for skin contact ! they leach toxins and unhealthy metals that can cause cancer!they make jewelry wire~ (safe for skin)for a reason it goes through a testing process that has to meet certain standards to be considered safe for human skin contact this metal is NOT meant for that. it's meant for what its sold for ..look it up 💝sorry I just care💝

This is a good video. I like how you show quite a bit of the whole process and you include problems you faced and how you solved them. Many other tutorials tend to just edit out these little mishaps which isn't helpful to people trying to learn how to create things. So thanks! Great work

Have you seen any videos on doing the ring base to make it look like a rose? Do the same steps she did but when wrapping the spiral have the wires "chase" each other...then twist the 2 together, do a slight turn, then twist & turn..repeat until the rose is the size you want then tuck the ends...very pretty 🌹👍🏼
