Ive watched at least 30 videos of this job and no one has taken a pic of the linkage. Thank you for that !

I’m glad it helped, I always gotta take a picture of what I take apart so I can get it back together

I know this is an older video but I just fixed a 12.5 Briggs with a Nikki by changing out the fuel inlet o-ring and gasket (diaphragm gasket?) and giving it a good clean. While mine wasn't pouring gas into the engine it was pouring it out of the carb since the tiny o-ring from the fuel inlet was just toast, and for less than $10 it was an easy fix. Granted my LT3800 Huskee (with easily 1200+ hours on it) has had 0 engine work (other than oil changes) since 2009 I would say the mower has held up really well, granted also the Nikki carb I have on mine doesn't have the electric solenoid it is otherwise the same carb. I did also add a fuel shutoff and bigger fuel filter just to make it last longer, and since it lasted 15 years with the stock fuel stuff I'm hopeful that I can get another 15+ years out of this new setup.... and for less than $20 that is money well spent to me. ☺

You can definitely rebuild those carburetors but for around 20 something dollars it just seems to me. It is a reasonable option just replace. That rebuilding is also a great idea, glad it’s working well for you

Finding one without the solenoid isn't that easy anymore, and the cheapest I found was $40, and I'm unsure if I can delete the solenoid with a simple bowl swap (might have to look into it). I have had a bad experience a few years ago with a bad solenoid causing a minor fire that burned 3 other mowers so I'm not a big fan of them to start.

I always install a gas shut off valve on my mowers and equipment, turn off the gas flow and run the engine till it quits, saves me future problems.

A few machines I have has the shut off, always a good idea

I have 2 or 3 that have dumped all the gas into the engine. I need to order a couple of carbs too. I also invest in cut off valves because I never know when they are going to dump the gas again. Thanks for sharing.

Those carburetors are notorious for doing that, I think I got that for $19 good investment

Funny that you forgot to put in the spark plug because I’ve done stuff like that. Thank for the video

Great video. I have that carb on a19.5 that I'm putting on a Dixon 0-turn that does not have the solenoid and plunger on the float bowl. How do I wire this plunger into the system when there is no plug already there. How do I wire this in.
@MurphyMower Жыл бұрын
Maybe use your old bolt or you can cut plunger off- it’s not critical to have

Have you had to replace the deck belt on this mower? I just got an lt1000, with the 18HP Briggs. It came with a 94” snapped belt, I’m reading 95,951/2, and 102 online. Let me know, thanks!

I’m not sure right off hand but if you go to Sears parts direct and type in your model number you should be able to find out the correct part number

I try a local shop here, but also Google Hipa and they should have that You can always go to Amazon

Just make sure you have the numbers off your engine when you Google it

You had a sorry NIkki carb and you bought a Nikki after market carb. You will begin to have trouble with this one too...soon. Nikki is the worst garbage of a carb that you can own. Just buy a Briggs and Stratton Walbro carb and replace that junk with the Walbro. Part number 594593.

Good advice. I also purchased a Nikki carburator and had nothing but issues with it after 8 months.
