The Creality 5 S1 3D Printer is a great addition to my shop. I has all the things that you would want in a printer right out of the box. Direct drive extruder, all metal hot end, automatic bed levelling, filament runout sensor, touch screen menu and crazy fast printing speed.

Excellent review. This looks like a very nice machine -- and the price is very good. Frankly, I was astonished that the price is so low. If the machine is durable, and only time and testing will tell, it will be a great value. I have no need of a 3D printer, but now I want one anyway! Thanks!

Great review Guy. Thanks - now if you'd cover files and software a little. This is the first highly tempting thing I've seen lately. Usually I can resist anything but temptation .. and this is REALLY doing it.

Nice prints! I would like to print some of those cargo boxes. I replaced the power supply fan right away, it really is too loud. Also, I installed a volcano nozzle with 2 brass nuts as spacers. Seems to work well, will be testing flow rate as soon as I finish writing this comment!

Thanks Nathan! Replacing the fans is on my short list.. Here's a link to the box. It includes a .f3d file to open up in Fusion 360 and then you can modify the parameters to make any size box you want.

Yes, I like the open frame on the Ender 5 S1. I don't like the new style of printers coming out such as the K1 and the Bambu Labs printers that are fully enclosed. I like to see what is going on. While I like the panels you can get to enclose the Ender 5 S1 I wish they were clear. As for the power supply fan noise that seems fairly common with lower cost 3D Printers though I would not call the Ender 5 S1 a low cost printer. I think the PS noise comes because the case is metal and air passes over metal ribs. I think if they got rid of those ribs and used a slightly larger fan, it would not be so noisy. I wish it had linear rails and maybe even a corexy system. Still, it looks like a nice printer.

@@GuysShopI just bought one as it was on sale. I really like it so far. Definitely a step up from my Ender 3 Pro which I had to heavily mod to get a decent print. The nozzles are an issue with me as well. You can't just buy a pack of 0.6 nozzles, you have to buy a pack which may have one, possibly two. By the way it does have bed springs. They are hidden inside the solid bed mounts. I noticed it because my right front solid bed mount is shorter than the others. I could not see the spring though until I was trying to level the bed.

I have the ender 3 v2 with every upgrade done to it that you could think of and I am looking to get another printer and my eyes are on this ender 5 s1, would 5his be a great edition? Or should I look for something different in this price range?

If you can afford a little more, I would seriously consider the Bambu P1P. I have one now, and it is a game changer type printer. If it's out of your price range, the Ender 5 S1 is a really good printer also and worth every penny.

Guy, do you think this would be a good printer for a newbie? I foresee it primarily (for now) as an addition to my woodshop (making adapters, holders and the like) thanks.

Hey Doug, Yes it's a very good printer for a newbie. Thats not saying though it won't still take some trial and error and learning. It is a really good printer for the $$$

Any idea how it compares with the Prusa? It certainly is less money.

I have both. I think I like this one a little more as it is quite a bit faster especially with Klipper installed

You think the Bambu PIP is better than this ender 5 s1?

Without having one to do a comparison, I can't really make a solid recommendation on the Bambu. Knowing what I know however, I would probably get the Bambu if I had the budget for it. I do have a P1P on the way however...

@@GuysShop thanks! i guess i will pay the $700 to get a pip since the x1 carbon is out of my price range since i will only be doing prototypes to then later get molds if i end up mass producing some ideas i have so i think i should be fine with the pip vs the carbon.
