Professor Anderson is the director and chief instructor of Anderson Martial Arts in Gresham, Oregon. He holds a 9th degree black belt in karate and an 8th degree black belt in Filipino Martial Arts. Prof. Anderson is a 4 time national karate champion. He has authored numerous books on the martial arts including, “American Freestyle Karate: A Guide To Sparring” which has been in print for 30 years. More information at school.danandersonkarate.com.

Dan coined the term American Freestyle he even wrote a book on it. The fact that you wore that Superman tee shirt always appealed to me. I saw you as an American martial artist following in the footsteps of Bruce Lee

Elgin Subwaysurfer Bolling In what year did he do this? Coin the term because I personally know the man who actually created that style and it came from American Open Style Karate.

Your system is not American Freestyle Karate. You may call it that, but you are only doing that because you are American and you’re teaching Americans. You’re dishonoring the origin of the art by doing that. I personally know the man who created the style and he created it from American Open Style Karate and his certification is signed by Pendington, Norris, Lewis, among others. So who approved your American Freestyle, and what system did it originate from?
