This video was very helpful. thanks so much. i do use other DAW's but i needed to add something different to my production Gear/Software and i decides to get Reason. it looked difficult at first but i manage and with your Tutorial it helped a-lot. I do have still long way to go but i will take it step by step.

Hey quanta like most watching for long time, I tried videos and self teaching and out of frustration I was ready to forget reasons using other alternative programs until I came across your videos, I have better understanding and so glad because reason is the best DAW for beats compared to most if not all others... Plus I spent way to much to just leave it alone haha

@@quantaaudio how do I get the intruments to strictly play in sequencer only... everytime I press playback intruments in rack all play, and there playing over the sequencer

@@quantaaudio just to better explain, after making patterns with intrument like drums kit Kong or syth etc. I'll (sent patern to sequencer) so now the blocks are made and ready for building and editing the music, but I cant do it because pressing play activates both rack and sequencer instead of just sequencer... all the help would be appreciated by anybody... hope I explained it well

MIDI instrument tracks sound very thin on playback on mine. Sounding like bit and sample information wasn't fully put out.

i dragged radical piano to the rack and selected nice grand patch, but when I press the space bar I only get sound for Dr. Octo rex drum set. I can't get any sound from piano.

You need to record some MIDI data with your connected MIDI keyboard or QWERTY keyboard (or manually draw some notes into a MIDI clip), first...

Can Reason use Wav samples (kicks & Snares) from something like FL Studio? I seem to have a problem getting them to come up.

it only Play all sounds on rack when i press space...not the song that i want to make in Sequenzer.so i got single stuff in Sequenzer but it Play all stuff from rack at the same time...why is that?

Thank you for creating these, the one's I have used are great. But, I can find nothing that takes me beyond putting down a few loops and tracks - what about completing a song? Mixing it down? Taking it to final product, mp3 or AIFF on a disc? No one seems to want to do that; why? Or am I just not looking in the right place?

No, you're right. There just aren't that many (or any at all, that I can even find) tutorials for creating a complete song from scratch in Reason. I'm not sure why, but, for me as a tutorial creator I can say that producing the tutorials is incredibly time-consuming and part of the reason why I don't do many Reason tutorials anymore is because they don't get many views. So, it just doesn't make sense to invest so much time into something that will barely buy you a single dinner out. My Reason tutorials get less than a quarter of the views that my Studio One tutorials get. This may be one of the reasons why there isn't much more out there...

@@quantaaudio Maybe you have time to answer a simple question: in the 'First Song in Reason 10' you show how to copy a measure and paste it - what about copying a whole 4 or 8 measure loop and pasting it to build out a section? I've tried a bunch of things but none work so far (I'm on a mac). If that's a simple question, please let me know.

Hi. Which one is better, Presonus Studio one 3 or reason 10?

I would say that neither is better than the other. It's really just about what works best for the user and their needs. Studio One is definitely more feature-rich. But I find that I'm always able to work much more quickly and unimpeded in Reason. If you're trying to decide between the two, I would recommend trying Studio One's Prime (which is free) and Reason has a 30 trial version...

should have bought Reason intro instead of Cufail elements!didnt know I had to buy a dongle for another 30 dollars after buying Elements for 100 dollars!still havent learned to use Cubase elements after 2 months!

I used Cubase years ago and loved it. But the dongle is a deal-breaker for me, these days.
