The Lessons:
- You don't have to have an unhealthy relationship with social media
- Drop comparisons, valuable creative work is a practice, not an outcome
- Focus on preparation & learning, this will guarantee long-term growth
- Cultivate an open mind & question your preconceptions, rigid thinking will limit your work
- Giving space for physical & mental wellbeing, is a force multiplier over time
- Try not to resist change, it's normal for people to make moves
- Embrace flexibility in your path, for most people the creative journey is long

As an artist who is constantly deactivating my ig for weeks and reactivating when I’m “ready” to put more art back out there. I can honestly say I get roped back into the lack of feedback from users and I would be lying if I said it doesn’t make me feel like my creations aren’t good, but this was a gentle reminder that we all get in our heads/own way. JUST KEEP SWIMMING ! Love to you all

I feel the same aswell. But I guess it ls cause we want others that we know to support us or at least engage with it. Alot of the time we want the approval And handclaps for our hardwork because we see others.thsts honestly 100% of wat it is.
@smokinggurb6884

My advice for anyone here. Create out of the joy of creating. Social media has his algorithm game on lock where it feels like you need to be online 24/7 and post 6 reels to stay relevant. Create at your own pace, some days will be better with the engagement and some days will be absolutely shit. But what I have learned is that no matter what happens. Be proud , be proud of making that piece again because you started with a blank canvas and somehow your imagination and execution worked hand in hand to create this very thing right in front of your eyes. I learned to channel back into the pure joy I get from creating art, no matter who looks at it . If you love what you are doing , dont wait for a short cut or cheat codes. Just keep on going, dont ever stop. And you will get there

I "self-medicated" for more than twenty years as I (falsely) believed that I had to be high to be creative. I was terrified of getting sober, because my creativity means so much to me. I eventually knew I had to get completely sober whether my creativity was still there on the other side or not. I'm happy to say, I've been clean and sober since 1997 and am more creative than I've ever been.

I don't like when people -- usually future fans or future consumers -- say, "They came out of nowhere." No, there's probably a 5-10 years long process that went into that product, and just because you haven't previously heard of an artist or author or what-have-you, you owe it to the creator to do some research, and SEE what went into that phenomenon

This video is fantastic. I am working on two albums, one of which is releasing this year and I feel is a lot more traditional in song structure and less organic. The other album I am working on is extremely organic, every track was produced and written out of freeflowing creativity, and they all mesh aesthetically because I had a concept and didn't force anything. Ima continue on that path because of this vid.

Concerning creativity and health practive this is absolutely true: My creative journey helps me to improve my spiritual journey I practice yoga, meditation, spa, sauna, I am more sober than ever eat healthy and go to bed early in order to wake up early in the morning . A creative process also means a strong discipline. My point of view is you can be sex drugs and rocknroll in the beginin g of your journey but the deeper you go to you creative process the wealthier you must be. Once again very good work.

i feel this lack of selfishness really often. the need to satisfy others before myself. im 21 yrs old and already think im too old to dedicate myself to my art, and maybe should just finish college and build that traditional, more encouraged path (people would like me to go that route). i dont have the courage or self esteem to go connect with other artists or share my work. really been down on myself lately over this shit. i dont have any opinions or positive messages at the moment (sry) but if someone feels the same way, just know youre not alone. this shit is hard, real hard
