I don't know about you, but I like this weird pair. Depressed boy and Yandere girl? The flow is better than I expected.

We've got an interesting dynamic here, the depressed teen and the yandere who loves him. Art-wise, the world being a miserable, murky gray works thanks to John's depression and the two characters we've seen with actual portraits look nice. I fear any hope that thinks work out for John may be foolish, but I'll try and have some optimism moving forward. At the very least, Lizzie didn't kill him when confronted with her obsession which is better than most yandere stories go.

I like how the depression cures the "How does protag go along with this?" That most Yandere protagonists suffer from. Whether he makes a good decision or a bad one it works because he isn't supposed to be a normal clear headed individual that should be able to spot red flags and do something about them.

Honestly, the dynamics between these characters are actually really frickin good. I'm so used to yandere stories just being completely over the top without any kind of nuance in the personality of the yandere and the milqetoast fuckin protags in those kinds of games that this is crazy refreshing. Like Lizzie clearly isn't all bad, she has mental health problems that aren't just cartoonishly ridiculous and she just needs a little help. Is a depressed boy the solution to her problems? Probably not but it's still interesting. There are so many interesting stories that can be told with the context of a stalker or a yandere who is certainly not a good person but can be helped rather than this like ridiculously psycho person ready to kill everyone. Also like damn high functioning depression is a trip. You don't want to do anything but you just kind of keep going through the motions because what the fuck else are you supposed to do? Like there'd be one part of my brain planning a suicide attempt in a week or some shit but I'd still be doing homework or studying for a test at the same time. I actually think this is a pretty decent portrayal of depression, not perfect but it gets the idea across without being too over the top.

Whoa... are the two types of crazy gonna cancel out, and Manly accidentally stumble across the (presumably) only good ending in this game? o.O... what a thing to stumble across in a yandere game, though.

I gotta say, despite some minor bits in the writing here and there, this is a pretty interesting twist on the typical tropes. The main character being so depressed that he hardly cares about the ridiculously dangerous potential outcomes or what his obsessive stalker could do not only leads to some more interesting situations, but actually leaves you guessing, whereas most visual novels with these kinda scenarios can get a bit predictable, this one's dynamic with it's characters makes it harder to tell just how this'll all end. It's early on, but I'm already interested to see where it'll go with this kind of setup.

Y'know, the more I watch this video, the more I start to think that there's a little more going on with the main girl than just "she's a yandere". Her line "the only person" from the beginning for example has me suspecting that she may have a similar condition to John where she can only focus on certain people. I mean sure you could argue that it's a standard "yandere" thing to say and maybe she doesn't have the same COLOR symptom but honestly it wouldn't surprise me if Mrs. Smythe and those dang KoiTec drugs were causing these things to happen.

Man, this game can range from wholesome to outright "what the fuck" in different endings. But the funniest shit has to be the clinically depressed and kidnapped protag finding the inner strenghs to quip about his situation.

I hate it when therapist are represented like this because it's not true, and it makes people afraid to go to therapy and get the help that they need. First of all, therapist and psychiatrist are two different professions. Therapist are there to help you mentally and emotionally, to give you a different perspective from an outside point of view, and to give you tools to help you handle and to overcome your problems. A psychiatrist is there to handle in the chemical imbalances that may be occurring there. If you have a medical professional that happens to be both a therapist and a psychiatrist, a good medical professional would not see someone having a bad day and immediately jump to an increase of medication as their first response, not unless it has been a dangerous or concerning worsening of the condition over an extended period of time. Medication is generally the last thing you do, and is usually there to Aid and the healing process to fix in the chemical imbalances. But if some was simply having a bad day, and they can get through it without medication, throwing in unnecessary medication can make things worse and the medical professional would not do that. So protrails like Miss Smyth only makes things worse.

You seemed to be rather against how the friends were acting, I will tell you as a high school student, this hit the nail when it comes to how people treat each other. Generally though, people in my generation just “know” how people are feeling, so it tends to not be done to people who are clearly in a bad mood, but if the protag and those students were close friends? Yeah, I could absolutely see people doing that. I do it, my friends do it, even to me. We don’t do that to people we don’t know we’ll though, cause they might just not get that we’re joking. Gen Z humor is broken, in hundreds of ways.

I think, this is the only yandere girl i have seen to be more rational than common yanderes. She's not just obsessed with John, she cares for his well being and is quite aware of his surroundings (and actually not impulsively killing anyone who made John sad, gloomy etc.. She even made John know what she will do).. I like this yandere girl hahaha
