I forgot to mention the stock came from Buckrail-line airgun accessories he has many great super high quality products. There is a suppressor for roughly 25 dollars and although inexpensive works very very well , it quiets the gun around 70 percent and you might at 1st get the feeling it's less powerful but it doesn't affect power , and actually the accuracy increases , going from my experience .

I converted my 1322 with a Benjamin marauder pistol air tube, valve, fill assembly, and custom 3d printed side lever breech, and a ton of 3d printed parts. It works pretty good and shoots 765 fps with Crosman 14.3g

There is a horrific video called exploring the PCP explosion. The guy is same fellow that owns Buckrail-line airgun accessories he had a highpack on his 2240 and had a failure, the valve shot out at high speed and went almost all the way thru his leg , the hole must be an inch in diameter. The safepac screws into the back half of the valve instead of being pushed against an o-ring where your co2 used to go .

If you look at my latest videos you can see the build has become much more refined , I've built 2 safepack carbines so far . One great tip for tuning is to buy the aftermarket spring pack from ebay it comes with 3 different strength springs , the great part is the spring is much shorter than the stock hammer spring or magnum versions , it launches the spring but looses contact with the hammer at the last moment , it's basically a slingshot hammer , and it eliminated almost all hammer bounce, when you use a silencer you you get rid of a lot of noise but still hear the hammer bounce , the tube and air volume are too small to get the ping noise you get from airguns with larger volume tubes . I have 1 tuned low getting about 14 shots , and shooting in the 700s with 14.3 the other I built can shoot a 25 grain H&N rabbit magnum 2 in the 800s , that build has a custom transfer port bought from gmac but thier store is pretty baren right now with most items out of stock . It only gets 5 shots but hits like a ton of bricks . I'd really like to build a 25 cal at some point , they do sell big bore breeches that fit up it's just getting the right barrel for fitment that gets difficult, it's definitely cheaper to buy a store bought gun over building your own but I love my little riffles that I sure have spent more than 500 dollars on building , I just think up a build then buy a few parts each month then build over the winter months when it's hard to get out , thanks for commenting 👍 let me know if you run up against any obstacles I'm happy to help if I can .

Thanks for this information. I was going to add his safe back to my 2240 but I wanted to use the the stock back half instead of the boss valve. I figured if I use the boss I'd lose too much gas. Plan on using a 24 inch barrel that I have
@jasonnealey8325
@jasonnealey8325 Жыл бұрын
Great Idea , your gonna have a powerful gun even without the boss valve 24 inch barrel it should be super fast. My 1st couple of go arounds it was only spitting out 3 shots at 1000 psi but it was over 45 foot pounds , what I have now is a hammer spring in the valve and a superlight stainless hammer spring in back now getting about 12 shots at about 22 to 24 foot pounds , 1st 2 shots are under powered because the hammer strike has a hard time overcoming the valve spring when pumped to 2400 psi . You probably already know this but when using one of the cheaper pumps the say MPA on the Guage, it is not the same as PSI 1600 MPA = 2360 PSI , don't pump it to 2400 MPA or you will have a disaster. Thanks for commenting. Check out Buckrail-line airgun accessories the moderators and stocks are awsum.

One thing of note the space inside the valve and safepack is longer than inside the standard valve , I like the idea of keeping the stock valve spring and keeping the original valve stem that punctures the co2 when it's in stock configuration, the reason is if you use a Benjamin Discovery valve stem it doesn't have the back half of the stem/pippett which will act like a spring guide , with the Discovery parts the spring just sits in the space with no guide to keep it consistent, I haven't had issues but if I did it again I would keep all the stock parts screw the safepack in and use a light hammer spring or power adjuster if your carbine stock will allow it to fit with my tactical stock the only option is to try different spring combos
@descargaelbano
@descargaelbano Жыл бұрын
@@jasonnealey8325 yes, thanks for the information on the springs. I was looking at the stock valve today and thinking about just removing the needle, but leaving the brass guide on there for the spring. I was only planning on running 1600 or 1800 PSI but dialing back a little bit on the amount of air that came out so I can still get 10 shots out of it.

@@descargaelbano sounds like a good plan , for me it takes just 20 pumps to fill to 2400 , I did same thing at 1st I only pumped to 1000 that's when I was getting just 3 shots . Love to hear back after you install and do some tuning ..

@jasonnealey8325 2 жыл бұрын
There are actually 2 different picatiny bands on the carbine , if you go to ebay and type crosman 2240 , the 1st item to show is the pic rail you see closest to the breach it is 7$ and is high quality durable polymer, the one towards the front of the gun also came from eBay for 13 dollars, I was shocked at the low quality of the 3d printing and it had very bad grainy patterns it looked like crap , I sanded on it and brought the finish down to one surface , this piece looks good I bought it because of the venting looking kind of cool , this is also found on Ebay for 13 bucks but I can't recommend it unless you are ready to do some work on it .

I just bought a 2240 today and getting in to modding it. I want a safepac as it seems like the way to go. Should I keep the 2240 valve and hammer spring or should I upgrade anything? I would like to get 20+ shots on a tank if possible. Also, how long is your barrel? How far would the safepac stick out past the stock barrel? Thanks Its hard to find any info on the safepac

I read on Amazon a comment Froggy made about people using a Benjamin Discovery valve stem/pipet when making this mod so I ordered one from ebay , the difference is there is no extension on the Discovery valve stem where the original has a piercing point to pierce the co2 cartridge. The Disco valve stem had a long stiff spring so I used the original, I guess I would keep the valve original if I could do it again . Right now I get 11 shots , it takes 20 pumps to bring the safepac upto 2400 PSI , Warning about pump gages, MPA and PSI are not the same 1600 MPA is as high as you want to go it's about 2360 PSI . You comment on hard to find info is correct thats why I posted , to try to help others out . Right now 11 shots of 18 grain ammo going between 880 and 910 . All measured on an App for your phone . My biggest issue at 1st was too much power and low shot count just 3 to dump 1200 PSI , I was scared to pump to 2400 at 1st and did a half fill the 1st 3 times I shot . 2240 mods before the safepac , : Extended bolt probe . : 60 percent increase transfer port . : 14 inch barrel. : 1/2 x 24 moderator adapter. : lighter trigger spring . : Stock and Moderator come from Buckrail-line.com . : Wood hand Grips . : stainless screw set hex head bolts . I absolutely love this Gun Super light weight , high power , tactical look , accurate ,

@Renegadebroadcasting Renegadebroadcasting you can use the stock barrel but it will look a little funny with the airtube being longer than the barrel , the ideal length is 14 ton18 inches , with the 14 I had to unscrew my moderator each time I pumped , it was the end with the filter not fitting hitting the end of the moderator, I bought an extention hose , if I did it all over again , I would keep the stock valve and spring use a 14 to 18 inch barrel. One other note of interest is there will be a 1 to 2 mml gap after the safepack is installed, no safety issue with it but it's one of the reasons I put the forward rail on , if doing that part again , I would just buy 2 of the smooth texture rails like I have closest to the breach , I did significant work sanding the outside surface and some filing inside the barrel band hole .

@Renegadebroadcasting Renegadebroadcasting don't get in trouble man , concealing an airgun can get you killed just as easy as a firearm . Look at buck rail line.com , they have a new folding stock which would make it easier to carry . If looking for max power order a light hammer spring and place Iinside safpack get a stiff hammer spring behind the hammer and pump to 1000 MPA , you will get 3 shots of over 40 foot pounds..

I used a Benjamin Discovery valve and a 26percent increased flow transfer port , the valve came with a spring which I put aside and used the original , the spring that came with was stronger and longer but it didn't seems to seat in the safepac like the new valve and original spring , Im trying to find balance between hammer spring and valve spring , I just want 20 shots at around 800 FPS .

@@jasonnealey8325 great to know i had no idea you could put one on 2240 guess ill be ordering one. i was able to shoot a few shot on my old customized valve and man it was very powerful. hopefully once i get my discovery valve im thinkin of puting a stronger spring in that valve so when hammer hits it there wont be an excessive amount of air released then ill tune the hammer spring adjuster to control how hard i want it to hit and release air at a controlled rate. ill let you know how many shots i can get outta it. im just still kind of uncomfortable filling it to its max rate.

@@graffitiel87 I fully understand, it you can purchase valve and spring on ebay the springIthat comes with is longer and stronger than the stock valve , Also the discovery valve isn't accurate I just mean the valve popit , it doesn't have the co2 puncture pin on the end . I Bought the benjamin discovery valve pin and spring , I should have used it , 1st I will lighten the hammer spring , if that doesn't make me happy , I will go in and change to the spring that came with the valve pin . The other option in just buy the entire Discovery Valve , unscrew it and attach to the Safepac .
@graffitiel87
@graffitiel87 2 жыл бұрын
@@jasonnealey8325 So i ended up getting that valve for discovery. put a stronger spring inside it like i said, i had to drill a small hole on top edge of valve not to deep but enough for screw in chamber to drop in and tighten properly. the discovery valve was a little longer so this was the reason i drilled hole and second i had to find a bigger screw size for the valve on bottom end since it wasn't the same screw size for this valve. once everything was assembled i adjusted hammer spring screw assembly to my preference. and im getting about 7 to 8 shots i dont know how fast they are going but the power and sound is very noticeable the last shot seems to be least lethal but all the others are great. this was filled up to max like specified on ebay for safepac but i dont think ill be doing that again just for safty purposes i still dont fully trust. im fine with the 5 to 6 shots.

I used a stock valve and spring inside, I used a Benjamin Discovery valve stem it came with a spring that was longer and stronger but I used the stock spring that came with the valve , I wish I had either kept the valve as is before putting the safepac on , I will likely put the spring that came with the Discovery Valve stem , currently shooting 21 grain H&N barracuda at 840 FPS and getting 10 full power shots with a weaker shot at rhe end , since I have a heavy hammer spring with the air volume is low it completely dumps on the last shot due to the valve being held open a tiny bit , for Pumping I have to half cock the bolt or air escapes and I can't build pressure. The most I've pumped it is 2300 PSI or 1600 MPA

Do you know if the CO2 to PCP conversions on eBay is any good? They sell for around 100$.
@jasonnealey8325
@jasonnealey8325 11 ай бұрын
Hey Jake this is the same conversion I'm using . Valiantmurph is the same guy as Froggy Airguns . They sell for 85 dollars currently. In my case I bought a discovery valve stem since you don't need the part that pierces the co2 any longer and I replaced the original valve spring with an OEM hammer spring . The original spring is a little short when you put it back together with the safpack . Eventually I bought a store bought pcp but doing the safepack conversion is the easiest, the conversion you see from China that has the Guage has am airflow regulator and doesn't shoot above 6fps . Feel free to reach out if you have any questions during your build

@jasonnealey8325 Your setup is very nice. I'm looking to add a power adjuster. If I could have that and a setup like yours, I would. Being able to dail down the power from pest control to a plinking setting is my priority. Anyone know of stock setup outside of the crosman coat hanger that will allow access to a power adjuster please chime in with a website.

@@muhammadsteinberg I agree with you that having this stock and a power adjuster makes the most sense but in the current configuration it's not possible, Buckrail-line is a great company and Original I was talking with Terry about same subject he said he thought is was a great Idea and might work on a design but his company took off and he's got a lot of projects running . With the original stock from crosman it's possible but so far none that I know of where you can use the adjustable stock and still have a poser adjuster.

Buckrail-line now has a version that allows use of a power adjuster but in this case , yes I change springs for power adjustment. The current set up has a stiffer than stock spring but it is also about an inch shorter this gives a slingshot hammer type effect that adds power and eliminates the hammer bounce . Hammer bounce creates a lot of noise and looses air / power with each bounce . If you havnt see this riffle in my more recent videos you should check it out it's much more clean looking now , I used a handguard designed for Dianna Bandit but it requires a dremel and some fitting to get everything right . Luckily enough I enjoy the custom fitting and modding process . I also have a folder version that I built the Ventalated handguard myself just using a perforated metal sheet . Thanks for commenting and if you are not subscribed please consider doing so . I'm out to help other airgunners anyway I can with experience, info and opinions.
