I've followed Theo for a couple years. This episode is a good example of why I'm a fan. He's obviously having a difficult day emotionally, for whatever reason, be it the dark arts whispers getting louder, or just a general sense of existential malaise. But he pushes onward, still being funny, still unpacking his quirky, unique observations and perspectives. He could try to hide the sadness like many people do, but he doesn't. Vulnerability isn't funny, yet he allows to poke out at the seams. He's simply just a real fucking person. I want you to like me. I want to like myself. That's my read on Theo. And that, I think, is the true inner monologue of everyone.

He may not be consistent, but you have to have confidence to do what he does. Multiple podcasts and to get up on stage and be funny. People with low self esteem don’t thrive like he is. But, he may not know that him and Bill Burr are the best two comedians doing it today.

I had the same thought. That is the behavior of someone who wants to bring others down, because misery loves company. But, that said, I think it is refreshing to hear anyone say something that goes against the grain. Kobe was just an athlete, and I didn't know him, I don't care that he is dead. And if he did rape someone then he was a piece of shit, too.

Which is why I personally think Ari hates him. Dude got cheated on and couldn’t handle it and to this day probably cries to himself over it. He isn’t trying to wake anybody up or change society he’s just a petty and hurt man.

Theo really grasps the world with such a deep understanding. That’s such a unique thing for anybody to comprehend. The part about Kobe Bryant holding so much “weight” in the world, man that was so golden. So right. when someone with so much ambition, so much drive, and so much power in the hearts of other people goes into the afterlife... all of that energy that person was carrying, is transferred into the minds and hearts of others in the here and now. I grew up the same way. Not feeling/being loved or cared about. The way you articulate your relationship with a higher power was never something I could put into words. You did it so beautifully. I spent a long time so angry with 'God'. Trusting him is a terrifying emotion and a gamble at best. But at the end of the day we do just need that unconditional love. We owe ourselves that much. Love you Theo. Gang.

Edward Frye when you say things like "there's just some things you don't do" it makes people want to go do it even more. It's like how saying don't use the N word makes people use it even more. If you follow ari you know he's a giant troll. He loves to be hated he genuinely enjoys it. Acting outraged is literally feeding him what he wants. This happens everytime a celebrity dies most people pay respects but there's also a percentage of people that take it as an opportunity to make up a joke or a troll post about it. Happened with Michael Jackson happened with everyone. Don't waste your time entertaining it Like Theo said, if you have free speech you can't tell someone they can't say something
