Cruise Adventure Part 3 on Carnival Legend: Kayaking Through Lucayan National Park

Күн бұрынLet's kayak in the beautiful Bahamas. Part 3 in our cruise adventure aboard the Carnival Legend that left out of Baltimore Maryland on March 24th 2024. We will provide you with an update on how we got home after the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse and give you our thoughts on how Carnival handled the situation. We will show you our splurge excursion in Freeport where we kayaked through mangroves in the Lucayan National Park. Don't miss seeing the unique Mangrove trees, turtle grass and upside down Jellyfish. We will show you one of the most beautiful beaches located in Freeport - Gold Rock Beach. Gold Rock beach is a wild beach with lots of natural beauty and is apart of the Lucayan National Park. We will show you the incredible gardens located at Garden of the Groves. To wrap up the video we will talk about our overall experience with carnival and our thoughts on the food and service aboard the Carnival Legend.

I have never considered a cruise, but for a trip for a group, this was perfect! No one has to clean up, everybody can have different interests and food, and the things you got to do were great. The kayaking in the Bahamas will be a treasured memory! We kayaked at Curry Hammock SP in the Keys and it was very similar - we saw those jellyfish there, too. Thanks for this awesome series! Yes, a cruise really works great for a group. Our group had some young kids up to teenagers and then their parents and everyone seemed to enjoy it. That is so neat that there is upside down jellyfish in the keys. I bet that was a neat experience to kayak in the Florida keys.

The young man did some excellent paddling. That is a nice paddling path. The mangroves are beautiful. White sand and blue water! Awesome botanical garden. The towel art is unique.

Yes, my son did such a great job helping to maneuver the kayak through the mangroves. This whole day was just so amazing. The three places they took us were all so different - the kayaking, the beach and the gardens. The towel art surprised me too. Who knew you could make so many creations from towels? Yes, we kayak but this was a new level of challenge with having to go through some tight mangrove channels. We all did well working together and the weather was so beautiful!

This was different than the kayaking I usually do. Required a bit more skill to not crash into mangrove trees and make it through the narrow channels. Thanks for watching.

@hikingoutdoorfamily I don't remember if I told you about my kayaking in Puerto Rico 2 weeks ago. It was my 1st time in a double kayak. The canal was much bigger than what you went through, but we still managed to go from side to side.🤦♂️🤣 It was Illumination Bay, so the trip back was in the dark. Us old people don't see so well in the dark 👀. It was very comical.

We love to kayak. This is such an awesome kayaking trip. The color of that water really is beautiful. Not sure I’d want to leave that beach. Noncrowded makes it even better. The garden would be fun to visit. Would be taking tons of pics. Wow lots packed into a few hours. Food looks great. Seems like it was a good trip.

Yes, this was quite and adventure as we had to break the paddles apart in some narrow parts and use half a paddle to get through. The beach was so empty and just beautiful, but leaving to go to the gardens was nice too. This ended up being an amazing excursion. Thanks for watching.

Kayaking mangroves is so much fun. We enjoyed doing this recently in FL. The Mangroves are so unique. Lots of fun in the sun. Amazing that you were affected by the bridge but good they had an alternate way to get you back.

The mangrove trees are so neat with their twisted roots and one some of them were little snails. The scenery just looks so different from what we have in Pennsylvania. Yes, thank goodness Carnival came up with a great plan to get us back home.

Nice to see the kayaks on the water winding through the Mangroves. I loved seeing the turquoise water of the Bahamas. I've never been there, but it looks like a worthwhile vacation destination. The kayaking was so much fun. We found the Bahamas to have amazing beaches and nature. I like to talk about what things cost in case others want to do this excursion. When you have four people in the family, things add up, so I always try to choose our adventures carefully.

Very cool. I’m glad the splurge in cash was worth it. It’s neat that you can get so close to everything. I’ve never heard of upside down jellyfish. The beach looked fun too. Haha, when we went to the towel folding class I had all these ideas in my head. Maybe I'll fold towels for the kids at home, and they will think that is fun. Then I was like, yea, I'm not good at this - haha!

That really was a great excursion it went on for quite a while and you did a lot the kayaking looked organized and fun thwn that beach was gorgeous and so was the gardens!! Miss HOF This is gorgeous kayaking tour oh..Bahama in the winter? Mangrove trees are we get used to see in FL. Sometimes Manatees eat them in winter when there is nothing so consume. There are many Mangrove tunnels as you mentioned there are so limited space to get through by a kayak. Thrilled. I actually grab mangrove trees to navigate.haha I am glad you all had a great time together well done Which part of Bahamas? There are so many islands....we visited Bimini to only closest from Miami. But We both were satisfied with what nature/wild life they offer. Wow, Really about time to get out and I thank YOU. Look forward to your future project. Yes, Florida has mangrove trees too. I had no idea that manatee would eat them. That's interesting. Good tip to use the trees to help get through narrow spots. Our cruise visited three ports - Bimini, Nassau and Freeport. The kayaking excursion was in Freeport and it was just wonderful. I'll be tuning in to check out your new video once it goes up. Probably won't make the premiere but will watch it later for sure!

Well, that was a fantastic kayak adventure, and even though it was expensive as you say it was worth it and you’ve got to splurge a little bit right? The beach was absolutely stunning, and it was great that you was able to have a beer afterwards, and the kids were able to have a drink as well surprised it was over by 1 pm but that’s probably all you need. Anyway I have done a cruise myself well actually I’ve done three and the food is always excellent on cruises and yes they always make animals out of towels. I can see that you had a fantastic short cruise and thank you for sharing. Have a great week.
