Anybody looking to set themselves up with a barring tool, save yourself some money on that long 1/2 drive extension buy cutting a cheap shorty in half and welding a piece of tube or barstock in the middle to whatever length you desire. Your only using it to turn the engine so there's not a ton of force being applied to it.

I always put a paint marker mark on the rocker adjuster (across the Allen and the nut and the rocker arm itself) after I'm completely done. Then if I have an issue I can see if they moved very easily ❤

How do the stock valve bridges hold up to 100+ lbs springs?
@briangarvey49363 жыл бұрын
Hey Josh thanks for the quick reply on the last message, Quick question I would appreciate your expert opinion on. You mentioned the bridges in the vid but did not go into detail. My 07 6.7 was never apart with 80k my bridge dots are all over the place. I researched for hours and most say don't matter which way they go however the bridge has the dot on one side and that side has an elongated hole. trying to get her together after head studs. Do you put all the dots on the exhaust side? Thanks again this is my new fav channel keep it Bud. My 07 is identical to yours color and all aside from the 6.7 and 68rfe
@horsetorquesdiesel3 жыл бұрын
I do all the dots going towards the exhaust
@lukestrasser3 жыл бұрын
Josh, I had never seen the leave the exhaust feeler in while setting the intake method. I've lashed a LOT of valves and that's new, BUT I really like it, because, like you, I've screwed it up in the past. What did you do in the Corps? Navy guy here, Semper Fi.

Which is more reliable, dual cp3s with splitter cable or 12mm stroker? I would like my tow rig to both be a hot rod and when turned down be reliable for towing.
@horsetorquesdiesel3 жыл бұрын
In today’s performance parts I like the single pump, easier to install, less pulleys. A good dual pump kit is just as reliable, just more moving parts.

Time the cp3?? I thought a cp3 just supplied pressure to the rail and the ecm/injectors controlled all the timing
@keiferjanz31973 жыл бұрын
They can cause a kinda knock noise. Happens because of where the pistons inside the pump are at in stroke with the relation to when the engine is firing on compression. Some service manuals specify to time them some engine and others do not when dealing with common rail pumps. I personally have never ran into the noise issue but some common rail pumps I’ve done on different engines have been keyed.
