Vehicle now sold
A new to me Lexus GS430 has arrived. It's a bit tatty despite having low k's. Come for a walkthrough and I'll show you the grot.
*This vehicle was built in April 2005. In Australia that makes it a 2005 model. In the US it would be a 2006 model. For an explainer: www.autotrader.com/car-news/w... *

Writing from California: Even in 2022, your car is a head turner especially with the dark blue color that you have. I drive the 2007 Lexus GS 350 in red.

I don't care when the car was built this is officially a 06. 05 was the last year of the old body style.

The rest of the world doesn't prescribe to the US marketing theory on years. In Australia, and everywhere else in the world the year a car is built is the year it is. "Model Year" is a marketing construct. Nothing else.

Is the gs430 only has a v8 engine?

Supercat tyres are actually Bridgestones, just a cheaper range. Still have my GS450h as a daily and its been really reliable apart from 1 or 2 minor dash noises which Lexus fixed. Otherwise, these are great cars especially with that 3uz engine. Used to daily a LS430 with the same motor but that just sits at home now to keep the mileage lower. The only regret so far is that I couldn't get a GS460 that was in good condition at the time, but that will soon be resolved with either a LS460 or GS F. Are you able to provide an update on the ride quality on the 20s if you do decide to put them on as these cars already have a pretty choppy ride on anything other than perfectly smooth tarmac.

What did you tell them for the dash noise? Having same issue. How much did they charge you?

@@huzaifar7560 They replaced the foam on the windscreen cowl for one squeak, and also replaced the foam in the dashboard cluster. They did it for me at the annual service, I think if you go back they may just charge you a 1 hour fee to find the noise and maybe another hour or so to fix it. It depends on where you are hearing the squeaks/rattles.

Interior detail will render this car which you probably bought cheap, smell and look great!

Wasn't cheap unfortunately. Quite rare in our market. I used an ozone generator to remove the smell and had the seats professionally recoloured.

@@curatedjdm525 wrong choice of words . I should have said reasonably priced and not cheap. There is a 2005 Lexus gs430 for sale in my area priced at $9400 with tax and registration included, 169000 miles in the odometer and 4 door handle paint peeling and few scratches..is it a good buy ? Thanks.

I have such a car, but I have a problem with the ABS. Every four months it breaks completely. I can't find a solution except by changing it completely. Some say it is a factory defect. Please, whoever has a solution to this problem, tell me.

@@curatedjdm525 pre collision system, radar guided cruise control. Some of these came with a radar behind the grill. Really neat feature and extremely rare for this car.
