I'm the proud owner of a Ls430 and an E39 530i w/ sports package. Ls is definitely the cruiser, smooth as they make. The E39 eats the road. Perfect drivers car. The Ls430 is that same driver in a tailored suit

I have KYB shocks and Megan Racing lowering springs on my 430 and it rides amazingly and is lowered just a bit. Still perfect for dailying over speed bumps and curbs and such. My bumpers and trunk need paint but i dont know if im as brave as you hahaha i might just have to pay some day.

Keep it stock Bern. Keep it classy like yourself. Regarding nerding out, please do as those are learning moments for a lot of us. There is something to be said for any Lexus where it's styling and designs seem to transcend time. It's hard to date a specific Lexus....for example, the IS from 2007 on the road in 2022 looks good today as it did more than a decade ago, Ravi Peiris M.D.

This was the first car I ever drove, back in 2008. I bought one a few years later with 474,000km for $500 (Canadian). I had to do a brake job, headlights, battery, sway bar links and a drive shaft. It Lasted about 2 years (with a hard winter) before I killed the transmission. Got it to 578,000km with just oil changes, brake pads and topped off the coolant. I used to use the automatic transmission like a manual (2L, 3, 4D) same with shifting down. One time I was on a highway, under a bridge, put it in neutral and rev bombed it (it was straight piped/no cats). Put it back into drive and all the tires locked up, metal started waterfalling from under my car. Luckily, I was the only one on the road and was able to get a tow pretty quick. No cops. They wanted $6,800 to rebuild the transmission. Unfortunately, I had to sell it as is. Got $800 and was a pain to sell. Took a while and then the Guy was pissed that I already removed and sold the cats at a scrap yard too. I think I got about $600 for the cats. All together I really didn't lose any money. Maybe a tiny bit with the drive shaft, but still this was the best car I've ever driven. Before this I had a 1992 v6 Toyota camry, after the gs430 I had a 1999 bmw 323i e46, 2006 350z, 2008 Colorado (piece of crap truck), a 2006 Nissan murano (had the same VQ engine as my 350z but detuned) and currently a 2009 Ford focus. The gas prices are terrible around me, the used and new car market is over inflated around me and I too hit a deer in my 2006 nissan murano about a year and half ago. I was on a back road at midnight doing about 140kmph (80-90mph), it jumped out with 0 time to stop. Totaled the Nissan Murano. The hood looked like an accordion. Them deers are literally dying to get a look at any Japanese car...

Made me want to make a return video review on my 03 gs430 and things that were /are wrong and things that been addressed and fixed. Also I had a 03 6speed V6 accord coupe. So made it even funnier to watch your video. Btw yes lex got the proper RWD. But those accords are dope af as long as you ok with it FWD (which I eventually got tired of it) also those accords full package black leather voice command touch screen heated seats slick looking interior beats the GS interior in my opinion. Anyway good luck w the lex. I'll keep watching your videos.

Just go with coilovers for suspension. You don't have to slam it, and you can choose you're exact ride height. You'll love the stiffer springs and the ability to dial in your dampening levels, especially since you drive like me. Lol. I'm also considering doing my windows transparent yellow (for purely visual reasons). You're doing an amazing car a great justice! Good job! 👍

Hey man, personally for lowering, I would do KYB struts and lowering springs of some sort (RSR make good ones) . It will maintain the ride quality (only slightly stiffer) and look good . Nice gs by the way, I have an LS430!

@Bern I have an 01 Lexus GS430 and I purchased a pair of yellow AUXITO 9006 HB4 LED Fog Light Bulbs, 3000K of amazon and they are super bright and yellow. I highly recommend it.

Very nice car.....👍My GS300 has has tein 18 way adjustable struts and Tanabe lowering springs and it's an amazing setup. Also with front/rear megan racing strut bars. Currently looking at a 1998 gs400 250k. $2500, appears to be in really great shape.

If you haven't yet definitely look into getting your ecu tuned by someone like relentless motorsports, I haven't done it to my LS yet but I've heard it makes the throttle way more responsive on the 3uz. Roughly 2 week turn around time with sending them your ECU from what they told me in an email.

You need a throttle controller. gs430s have a lag in the throttle due to throttle by wire. Throttle controller cures this and vastly improves throttle response

For exhaust mods, I did a simple muffler delete on my 03 GS430, and it’s not super loud at all, but it sounds so much better on acceleration. Highly recommend for a daily GS. If you would like, I could post a video of some revs.

4 months later. Man I'd love an update. Lexus and Toyota is in my soul now lol. I have a 94 LS400 99 Camry 10 Rx350 And might be selling my ls400 to get into a GS430.

I feel that both your car and my car are in the same state for its age and I also found it ironic as hell that only 2 days after you getting yours you had the same issues.
