This would have made a nice reef tank, also makes me wonder why more tropical/cold water folk don't use fleece filters like the ClariSea?

It definitely would have, but these customers have had most of these fish for years, and it was simply an upgrade for their pets. The filter fleece is just an easy low-cost method. I find freshwater always has a much higher bioload than marine tanks and filter rollers block faster. Thanks for watching 😁

Your sump is not designed correctly. Water should flow to floss/ sponges from top to bottom or bottom to top. You need add another glass in your sponge chamber higher than glass in pump chamber. Same as right hand side.

The sump is set up so the water flows through the floss and sponges, down into the biomedia, and then back up and over into the last section. Maybe it doesn't show it properly, but the filter fleece is raised to make sure all water passes through it before entering into the biomedia. Thanks

I'm no expert but that sump doesn't look correct to me either why would the water flow down rather straight across the top of the floss should it not have another raised baffle before the last one in the media section to force the water down

The filter fleece is raised, so the water has to pass through it before entering into the foam. It's just difficult to see on the video but the water has to go through the filter fleece and won't flow over it 😁
