2 жыл бұрынWe did the turbo upgrade on this MK5 GTI FSI many years ago. It goes to show just how things can last with good parts, and proper ownership. There's definitely a lot more power to be had on this setup. It just requires a few more mods, and some more time to get us there.

Super clean mk5. Looks good on those kicks, and it looked good previously on what appeared to be some turbo twists. Static > bags all day. Can't beat the spool up of the 3071. Great work as always! 😎🤙

Maestro is definitely an interesting platform for tuning. I got pretty close to where I want to be (for now) I just want a tame version of a popcorn tune. No pops, just want the burble!

Did not see much winter, I bought it used in 09, so can’t speak for 07-08, but from 2009-now it only saw one winter.

I love to see content like this as I still currently daily my FSI MK5. I am running stage 2 and have currently a 140k miles. Never decided to upgrade HPFP or do k04/ bug turbo. It felt that as the car grew with age the power would probably not be there. This makes me think again

Just rolled over 190k on my Stage 2+ MK5, added meth and bigger fuel pump, all the bolt ons at like 155k, engine still pulls like a goddamn train. I drive 42 miles a day, definitely drive with some skip in my step 😏 Full compression, zero leaks. Shit, my gas mileage hasn't even changed, I can average 30mpg if I want to. Only thing that gave out so far was my slave and master cylinder, but those were stock and I'm running like 300+ lb-ft on a six-puck single mass from BFI, so that was bound to happen at some point 😂 But yeah, I definitely definitely recommend sending it. Get your motor checked out, take care of your drive train, motor mounts, bushings all that. Stay on TOP of the 3k mile oil changes and cam follower replacements. Take a GOOD look at your turbo, make sure its golden. Swap your coilpacks, plugs, fuel filter, and get yourself a good, knowledgeable tuner, and you can make power for days, and many more years to come 👊

Odd its stock fuel pump. I just upgraded my turbo on my mk5 gli ko4. I'm doing my injector this weekend because it shuts off at a stop light at time. Overall I'm pushing 18 to 20 boost.

Its not always like that with maestro, but with this specific ECU it is. Making it very painful for dyno session. Its a couple changes away from being 400whp on pump I think.

I have Eurodyne for my car, and a k04.. only thing is I can't go to a bigger turbo on eurodyne, at least not my ecu (med17.5) Hardly enough tables for a k04. Looking for other solutions, not sure what else I can even do. My car did 304WHP 355WTQ on a k04.

MK4 1.8T and MK5 FSI rods are the junk. Typically 320whp is where we stop with stock rods on these smaller turbos. This setup has a lot more in it, just needs a couple small upgrades and a bit more time with it. If you're goal is over 300whp put rods on your to buy list.

This might sound silly but do you know of anyone who may have put together a twin to this car when it was built? I got super confused and my heart skipped a beat when you showed the original photos of the car, because I have a 2007 Mk5 GTI FSI I've owned since 2019 that I bought from a used car flipper with identical cosmetic mods. Porsche Twists, debadged front grille, smoked marker lights (well only one remained of those lol)... if I showed these photos to any of my friends and said "look it's my car" they'd go "yup". I live in New Jersey.

Random question but do you guys have any experience with the VWR lower springs that are made to work with the stock dampers? I want a little lower ride height but I don't want to kill the ride quality in my 7.5 or start wearing out the rest of the suspension.

Only used them a couple times, have used APR's springs many times. The APR springs work great without messing up the DCC, also ride great. Doesn't really help you much but it's knowledge at least.

Great vid. Original owner here of same car, fully loaded 2 door 6 speed black magic Pearl FSI now currently 117,000+ miles on her, still good shape. Got chipped REVO stage 2 around 08/09 and just now considering bigger turbo. Does that not make sense being as old as it is now? Also would I need to find a Revo dealer again if I decided to? Thanks.

I'm building a very similar setup but I have a GTX3576 and 83mm JE pistons.. is it possible to start the engine with stock tune so I can move it in and out of the garage 🤔? Just need to organize some stuff in the garage

As long as the stock injectors are in it would not be a problem. Do not drive or get into boost, unless you want it wrecked instantly. Lol

Depends what your goals are... if you want to have the ability to either control yourself, or have someone Etune it then Maestro is an easy solution.

Read the first comment on this video or description. The most we've seen on a k04 on our junk fuel is 325 with the boost jacked way higher than this. There's more left in this, just needed more time.

They're only running on 91 not even 93 they don't have it there's a big power difference from 91 to 93 and major from 93 to e85

Depends what your shooting for I guess, but if you're at moderate power or even higher usually boost or cams will do what most are chasing.

Log it and see what knock is like. If it's knocking then there's room for power with watermeth.

Both are great, however turbos not the issue for 500whp on an FSI. Fueling is. Although there are decent options now, they just come at a price.

I don't quite get why someone would throw an GT3071 on an GTI to then just make ~340hp? Most K04 Setups, with proper supporting mods of course, make more than that already.

You don't understand the limitations of fuel then. A k04 will not make that power on this fuel, I know because we done them.

It's 91oct and it's trash. Weve had other big tuners (from Cali who also have pretty junk fuel) state that our fuel is really trash. So we work with what we have. We can get a lot more with water meth which helps octane. Infact this one's worth a watch. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jNhkf5Z3tLDQoJc.html

@@COMotorsports Where i live there are K04 Setups running up to 380hp on CDL engines (those are the best figures though, 350-360 are more likely) with 98 Octane fuel. Is 91 Octane really that much of a difference already?

What's pathetic is not understanding the differences with fuel quality. No k04 is making more power than that on our fuel. There's other videos on our channel with similar setups running better fuel to see more potential.

@@joeszucs2190 no sir, only E we bring in is for the race cars. We've had plenty of other tuners around north america who do remote tunes and also are very surprised how trashy our fuel is. It is what it is and we work with what we have.
