Has anyone tried to use the thin pieces of decorative wood from the Dollar Tree? Like the holiday shaped ones? (Christmas ornament, big turkey, etc.) i looked online to see what material they are, they stated they were mdf. They are fairly thin and seem very sturdy.

I cut my chip board with 2 double cut passes with a regular deep cut blade and it came out really good i just set it on custom chip board .055 and heavy pressure

I do intricate papercutting with Swann Morton #11 Scalpel blades and sometimes I use the X-ACTO #11 (blue) Classic Fine Point. They run about .23ish cents each, which can be costly (for me) when using 40 blades on one intricate papercutting and I'm not cutting on chipboard. This machine wouldn't work for my particular papercuttings but I may be interested in it for cutting Kraft chipboard. So I'm curious how long a blade last before it starts tearing instead of cutting? I noticed they run about 6 to 7 dollars "each" (depending on shipping and where you purchase them)

You have to have a Maker in order to cut heavy chipboard.

Did you paint it after spraying it with mod podge? If so, do you have to spray it again with mod podge to seal it after painting?

I didn’t paint this project after I sprayed with mod podge. Yoi can add mod podge after you paint if you’d like.

Wow, just got my machine, did the vinyl holder, looked like cat scratch fever, tried to cut it now 5 times, looked nothing like yours, wonder if machine is a defect, when it gets to about 15 passes, I throws itself out of alignment, then at the end disconnects, says no cricut. This is what I would love mine to do, changed blades, used their expensive chipboard, looks like a cat scratched mine like a post. Thank you from r the potential I am missing.

Kelly Dannemann what May did you use? Did you tape down all of the edges? Also, did you move the four white star wheels all the way to the right prior to loading your mat? I have a video that shows you this step. Let me know.

@@mlastudiodesigns6979 yes, did all of the above calibrated blade, used cricut 2 mm, taped stars moved, was really ugly tried 4 times, shut off unplugged even between. Was amazed at the way yours cut. Do you have tutorial how you welded your text with circle. That is beautiful. Thank you for reply.

Kelly Dannemann Hmm. Looks like you did all the right steps. Where did you get your SVG file? Were the edges clean?
