I really appreciate you talking about how horribly QA Testers are treated in this industry. Every single company I have worked for, HATES QA. We are meant to call out the issues and people hate us for it. Usually, if we call out issues and say "this is not good to put out" we usually get an earful that we aren't doing our jobs in not finding the issues sooner. Also, we have no union and if you try to unionize, you will inevitably get a "Bad performance review" so they can legally fire you. It's disgusting how we have been treated, and don't think that the QA Team at CDPR didn't find these bugs. They were found and the management said "Eh, known shippable" and will fire you if you say anything against it

@@jimcanterak7349 That's EXACTLY how it is. Management typically never truly takes responsibility, even when they say they are, because they couldn't care less with them having money. So they will find someone in the company hierarchy to fire or blame, and they are just allowed to continue doing this, because there is no protections in place in the industry. So please, if anyone ever sees a bug in a game, any game, and you can't understand how it was allowed to stay in the game at launch, it's because management said it didn't warrant more work before they pushed it out and will just "patch it later". It's almost never because there wasn't a QA team testing the game.

And there is no way I am giving my full work history...that's asking to be tracked down. Regardless of whether you do believe me or not, doesn't change the predatory nature of all the previous places I have worked at, and I don't hear much difference from coworkers who worked elsewhere. @@voids98 I feel like they tried to do too many things at once and then it just kinda fell apart. I think you’re right about them getting halfway through and realizing they couldn’t deliver. The game is already filled with so much shit that it can take around 100 hours to 100%, imagine how much time and resources it’d take if everything branched off like that. Honestly, I wouldn’t have minded if they would’ve taken out some of the smaller grinds, side content in order to make something like that a reality

It turns out it was a demo, that "build" never existed, is a hand made cinematic, there is an article at Bloomberg, they interviewed 20 developers, I quote: "What they didn’t know was that the demo was almost entirely fake. CD Projekt hadn’t yet finalized and coded the underlying gameplay systems, which is why so many features, such as car ambushes, were missing from the final product. Developers said they felt like the demo was a waste of months that should have gone toward making the game."

Some moments playing really gave me bethesda bug vibes.... especially the game breaking/mission breaking bugs. Game makes me appreciate bethesda games more. Thats how crazy broken it is. for those who didn't know what the "I got fired from Disney" video was lemme explain it, young mutahar signed his channel away to maker studio, as that was the only way to getting monetized back then, when signed the contract he was "promised" with help on his channel which didn't happen, although he was getting cool features from maker, he was never once helped on his channel, which was bad since they were taking 20% of muta's KZfaq income which was even worse, next muta tried to email his channel manager which he only responded once they say the occasional bullshit to try to keep him on the team, which then they increased his share to 90% which was good but after a while he got sick of it, so he emailed them again saying he wants to get out and got no response, he has been filing tickets and trying to get out but nothing was working, next was that muta's channel manager got swapped to another manager, but he never was informed by this changed, but then muta emailed them again but the only response he got was that his manager got swapped out, that made muta pissed as he only got a response by emailing like 50 times trying to get out, after this maker studio was bought by disney for $500 million, after that he got an email saying that his contract was going to be terminated which made musta angry but when he saw the word terminated he was fucking excited to finally getting off of an evil mcn. and ladies and gentlemen that was the video that he deleted.

The biggest issue with all their ""challenges"" is they first announced it 8 years ago. In all those years of programming They had every opportunity to optimize better. You cant sit there and develop for that long and with 1.2 billion dollars put into it apparently and not have the game running on the consoles that where available their entire development cycle. At that point they should have held back the ps4 and xbox one launch and tell the truth.

CDPR needed time and the gaming community was all too willing to hate on them for taking their time or trying to shorten it and now are all too willing to hate on them for not taking more time.

If you have this game check out the speed run strats they’re so much fun to use to get to places you shouldn’t be able to. Ex: using one of the cyber wear implants let’s you slow down time when you aim and you can stack dashes and rapidly shoot across the air to get onto buildings

cp was in a fucking awful place to be a videogame tbh. after hyping the shit out of the game they couldnt just go ahead and say "yeah, fuck the xbone and ps4 crowd lol, we are releasing it to the next gen that just released less than a month ago". they couldnt just shaft what it was majority of the people who actually got the game, that means disaster to the investors and sales. i think they knew this, they knew that they had two choices, either release the game only for pc and next gen consoles and potentially lose investors, good will and a bunch of sales or compromise, release an unrealized game but at least keep the sales and dont bleed the most money. either way people would have gotten angry. they arent small anymore, they are a big company with a lot of people they have to answer to so maybe it was a matter of organization. if the game delayed maybe 2 more years people wouldnt have gotten angry if they decided the past gen version wasnt a thing anymore. Im just sad, i like the game a lot but it pains me what it could have been, and i dont think years of patching will fix everything since the main problem was it being released on shit hardware.

@@Xictlii What follows is based solely on my personal experience, but since I've worked on more than eight big projects for at least two of the biggest gaming company. QA's play is very much directed. Ad-Hoc, which is you going on your instinct and trying stuff in the game, is maybe less than 10% of your time. The rest is very strict and consist mostly of long checklists. For every build (Hotfix, patch, DLC etc..), there are specific checklists, one for every mechanics of the game. There's a sprint when someone completes the game as fast as possible, making sure there are no progression breaks. There's a 100%, which mean doing every trophy or achievements in the game. You have a checklist for, localization, weapon, vehicles, the combination of every option setting possible, and countless other checklist that would take an hour to list. If it's in the game, it' has been checked on every Skus the game will be on(PS4, PS5, PC-high end and low end) multiple time. Most of their checklists are even done for every build we receive which can be two a day during crunch time. As I said, that's only base on my personal experience, but I doubt that other QA doesn't go through something similar than this. So, I'm calling BS on blaming them for issues that are way too obvious to not be found like poor performance, progression break and constant crashes. PS: I feel so sorry for whoever had to do those checks on the old gens. After two crash most of us would put the game away, now imagine doing 50 hrs every week, for months, without having the choice to stop because it's your job.

It had one of the worst PC ports of all time, and it had to be removed for 4 months. How about GTAV or RDR2, they both had terrible PC launches. Hell people have forgotten how bad Fallout 76 and Anthem were. Anthem literally bricked consoles. The fact is that it is popular to shit on the game currently, and while what CDPR did was inexcusable they are far from being the first nor the last.

I agree. Witcher 3 is massively overrated and it’s kind of sad people claim it to be the best RPG of all time. It has a good story and characters yeah, but the RPG elements are lacklustre, the combat is poor and repetitive, the open world is ok I guess but everything else is bang average IMO. The soundtrack is really good though I have to admit.

Idk bout you guys but it probably is one of the best games I’ve played in a while. I have over 150 hours so far and I won’t forget this experience. I just hope it turns into a Witcher 3 situation where they fix the major issues like ai and optimization.

As a software tester myself, I can say at least in the UK, we're (normally) paid as well as developers. I don't see how software testers could have missed this. They could also have 'community' testers running the development builds for fun, which would undoubtedly uncover these issues. What probably happened was that the software testers *did* find these issues, but the management deemed them to be not that important to hold off the release. That's happened to me many times!

If you look into their stock calls, they repeatedly lied to investors about the quality of consol ports. The co founder straight up said rumors about xbox were a hoax.

They should be sorry about the misleading marketing as well, beyond the bugs and stuff there's a lot of cut content that they advertised and is not on the game. People can blame the hype all they want but CDPR is a part of the blame for hyping up the customers.

@IHasNoLife Productions I'm not a car guy, but the way I look it in your analogy the problems with the car are the bugs; the radiator is low, puddle of coolant, brake line not connected and tires having different pressures. Okay if it's a second hand car there will be problems, comparing it to the game I can accept a new game having a few bugs and inconveniences cause it can be fixed and updated with patches. New game launches tend to have a few bugs anyways. Then the features of the car the salesman advertised to the customer about was the missing content: heated seats wireless radio hq suspension Some examples of advertised cut content: NPC FULL day and night cycle Deep customization system Open vertical world I know cut content is standard in game development sometimes but the amount of it is too much. The salesman's advertised features of the car is still there creating hype in the customer's mind. Imagine you're a kid buying your first car and the salesman advertised these features. Surely you'd get excited about heated seats and wireless radio. Being excited makes you hype about buying that car. Now after buying it you suddenly see there's no heated seats, no wireless radio you can connect your phone to, and no high quality suspension. Car still runs fine but all the advertised features are suddenly not there. Won't you be disappointed? I'm not saying it wasn't over hyped, it was, and CDPR is a part of that is all I'm saying.

@IHasNoLife Productions Your example’s pretty bad tbh because it assumes that people weren’t expecting some bugs / cut content. Some bugs and cut content are fine, sure. The reason why people are upset is because there are just way too many bugs and way too much cut content to the point that the game content cut its own game.

Complete mess oh and not to mention the verticality of the world which was also heavily advertised till the very end which is also no exsistent yea their is always gonna be cut content thats a fucking given but when you cut out half of the gameplay from a game i dont think thats acceptable but hey if u wanna play a half ass game and hate on ppl for calling out the probelms with it be my guest

@@sterlok2283 Fallout 76 was worse. At least for me. They're the ones who wouldn't give up and still be replying to your comment two months later while CDPR fanboys would stop 4 days in. I've played both games and only one of them I want a refund for which is 76 because even after everything that happened, I still don't like the game. Cyberpunk, on the other hand, I stopped playing for a bit since I'm waiting for all patches and shit.

dude this is why I enjoy watching you still muta. You're always killing it at perfectly knowing when to be funny and meme, and then when you get down to them brass tacks and get serious and give an actual review/thoughts on something, not even just this game, you do it well. I honestly sort of cringe when certain KZfaq channels think that if they don't meme fucking constantly, they aren't cool, or some shit, y'know? I mean, I'm 29, and I think you're around my age, give or take a bit younger or older, and so I think a lot of it has to do with just... kids, yknow? just kids. Like the early twenties, and younger all the way to the teens, they are able to really make me curl my toes in cringe pretty easily nowadays, you catchin' what I'm putting down, my main village man? K, I started to get manic there at the end, which is not what I intended this comment to be.. it was supposed to just a nice comment to make you stoked if you actually read it, but what can I say? These KZfaqrs have inflicted straight up real PTSD on me, and I'll never be the same. And THAT is why I need you to continue being this fucking based, k? Thanks, Muta.

It is worth noting that in many game studios, the QA team and development team are at odd with eachother, sometimes due to investor interference. Legacy of Kain on ps1 for instance had a screen crediting silicon knights before the publisher logo, so the publisher coerced the QA team to keep claiming that the screen was causing crashes and other unrelated bugs. Source: my game dev profs used to work at silicon knights.

I don't mind the bugs, honestly. Even the times I had to reload 2 hours in the past because a quest was bugged and unfinisheable. I really do not mind that at all. Graphics are okay, but not optimized. That's okay too, fixable and game does run decent on PC - for a beta version game anyway. I hate the missing content that should have been there. Like every single driving and walking NPC, cop AI. There is no AI, they walk in a tiny loop repeating same thing. No shops work as supposed to unless you think it's 2001. No one else rides a motorcycle, except Panam a few times. Conversation dialogue option is 99% useless. It's fun don't get me wrong. But end result is the same. The illusion of choice of having better stats or different life path is a facade. In fact, everything is smoke and mirrors, a facade, lies, hiding missing mechanics behind shallow cardboard front. Lies lies lies. Hiding, faking, overpromising, underdelivering. It has every make of a great game. Change some shit like cop AI with GTA AI and boom, that's one huge part fixed. Quests, story? Some very heartwarming, sad, wholesome moments. Everything built on lies. I have way over 200 hours in the game, I dont' hate it. But I hate CDPR. Not the developers who coded the game, but the managers, money men. Cyberpunk is real. Corporations crap on people with hidden truths and tell us to eat it. CDPR the corporation is no different from Arasaka, Militech or Kang Tao.ff

15:33 hate to say it Muta but that build never existed CDPR straight up lied to everyone, the "2018 gameplay trailer" was faked, it's just a glorified cutscene. There were no gameplay elements actually made. There was no game at all.
