Morrigan was fantastic but for me Leiliana is the undisputed one true Dragon Age love of my life :) Leiliana & The Hero of Ferelden forever!!!

Best line came from a murdered Leliana. When the Inquisitor asked her about the HoF she says "There are no heroes. Just people."

Leliana was my love interest in DAO with my female warden,im fine with her being faithful to my warden it makes sense she would not be a love interest to the inquisitor, i didn't agree with her religious believes but never judge her im a looking forward to seeing her inquisition.

- Why is Leliana alive? Presumably after their fight, the Warden simply ran her through at the end and left her for dead as a canon action. Though it wouldn't be the first time Leliana survives a stab in the stomach for example. Ogren also mentions that Liryum runs through the temple walls and its quality is strange and strong, and could be the reason why the veil is thin and the manifestation of the spirits and demons. - Why isn't Leliana serving the Divine? Like in the trailer, the blast from the Fade killed thousands and it could be possible that Divine Justinia was there attending the meeting and was undoubtedly killed like everyone else was. Without a Divine to serve and the need for a new Inquisition rises, it is possible that Leliana and Cassandra will follow the Inquisitor and thus grant him/her a considerable force as a head start including certain rights that superseded royalty.

Well this vid was awesome. Being that I have not read the books I'm glad to hear something about them & how the tie in. Wish there was a video of someone giving me a summary of the past books.

This video is even better than the last DA Talk, well done. Its always been my theory that Leliana was resurrected much like Wynne; She had an unfinished task, a greater purpose, and she was not meant to die there. So, maybe her vision is true. Maybe it wasn't about the Blight at all, but something worse.

I can honestly say that, having just re-played DA:O, Leliana is my favourite ever video-game character. Whether it's the natural way the relationship between her and the Warden developed, her conflicting personality or simply her accent, I simply came to genuinely care about her. Here's to hoping that she at least plays a big role in DA:I and I'd love her to be a party member.

Just played through Leliana's Song and just saved Adaia, the City Elf mother. Never saw her before.

I would love to see some DA Talks on more of the companions from Origins. Like Sten (now Arishok) and Alistair, Oghren, Shale, etc.

I recently finished DA: Origins as a Dalish Warden romancing Leliana, so I'm interested to hear what Leliana has to say regarding him, and even on his disappearance. One thing that surprised me the most of this talk was centered on the Temple of Andraste being a place where the Veil is thin. I solved all the riddles right so I never encountered or suspected "demons" but rather on what Oghren told me on the lyrium veins where the Sacred Ashes are kept as being "purer than anything he's sensed in a long, long time." As for the next DA Talk, my suggestion would be either The Sten, or rather Arishok now, Alistair, Shale, or even Nathaniel Howe, since they've had a fair amount of their lives explored.

Great Episode, really helps for those who are missing some of the minor plot points from games/books they don't have access to. I can't really comment on why Leliana is still alive as I have never defiled the Sacred ashes.... just could never bring myself to do it even though it isn't a real life scenario (can never bring myself to kill Wrex or fake the genophage cure either, but then again Krogan are awesome.)

Could you do a video of the present state of Orzammar. I'm really interested to see your thoughts on how Orzammar could be in the game and also how having either Prine Bhelen or Lord Harrowmont as king affect not just the city, but the whole dwarven and human community around the area. Also mention Shae since the golum and supposely the dwarven inquisitor are from the Cadash family.

Great video! And by the way, have you ever thought of voice acting? Your voice is pretty awesome and would fit an IG character well. Also, this video helped me to get some facts about DA2, because I dont have the courage to play it. I love DA Origins so much, its amazing. But after I saw a friend playing DA 2 and get so upset with the game I didnt want to ruin the great experience I have with DA Origins. =(

I haven't read any of the DA books. Which ones do you I recommend that I read? I want to get around to buying them sometime. I was going to buy the 5 A Song of Fire and Ice books after finishing the books I just got recently. But I can wait and read the DA novels since I might go through them quickly anyway, and it looks like the 6th Song of Fire and Ice Book isn't going to be out for a while anyway.

I'm pretty sure you have gotten many requests for this one but I think you should do a DA Talk on the The Warden. An in depth DA Talk on each Warden, discussing their specific families and connections throughout Thedas. Two of the most interesting ones in my opinion, are Warden Cousland & Warden Amell.

In her cameo in act 3 of Dragon Age 2 I would have really liked to just tell Leliana exactly what was going and completely blow the lid off of the whole thing.

Where did you get information that the top heads will meet in the temple in the beginning of Da3? I thought i knew everything one could now about the game right now.

I was hoping for a return of Shale... or Sten. Shale was outright one of the most enjoyable characters in DAO. I can still reminisce some of the dialogues. Shale: The lady of the family wanted me out of the house. She said that I was too big and had trouble getting me through doorways. She had me shrunk, reshaped and she STILL WANTED ME OUT! Warden: How does someone manage to shrink a golem? Shale: With a chisle... and ALOT OF NERVE!!! That made me laugh so hard :)

I can't help but notice that all the characters in origins have updated looks compared to when i play. How did you reach that effect? Generally they just look updated with clearer colors, even though i play on maximum settings. (Some characters, like Marjorline, are also completely re-outfitted)

I would actually like to know more about Mythal, why she exists when presumably murdered, and what her true motivations might be. There's also the dragon that Corypheus has with him.

I'm pissed because I somehow got the glitch in Origins where if Lelianas approval is past a certain section you can miss the option to get marjorlaines quest and romance her soi really hope just having her approval at 100 has similar effects for DA2

Heh, I am a little conflicted by the mods you used for this video. On one hand these are my favorite mods, and you used the exact face/hair mod I used for my games as I feel they suit her the most. However as a "character" showcase I wonder if you should have kept it vanilla for newcomers to the series. Either way excellent summary of an important character in the history of Thedas!

Leliana is my favorite

I'm trying to figure out why the Inquisitor would be at the peace meeting between the heads of the chantry and mage rebellion. A mage Inquisitor (which I plan on playing as) might have reason to be there regardless of race but even then I'm trying to suss out why say a Kosslith or Dwarf warrior/rouge would be at the Temple of Sacred Ashes at the time the breach opens up. Seriously hope October gets here soon need my DA fix and once again great video Ashe :)

As I understand it ash wraiths are usually demons, however there was a theory that the ash wraiths in the temple were the spirits of Andraste's followers having sacrificed themselves to become a ash wraiths. I don't recall them ever explicitly saying the veil was thin however if you bring Ohgren with you he will point out that he doesn't know if the ashes power is real or not but he can tell that the walls of the temple are completely lined with lyrium and that might have something to do with it.

Something interesting to note. In DAO when you first get to talk to Leliana, she tells you about her vision. What if that vision was of the events of Inquisition, not DAO?

About Leliana's survival between Origins and DA2: What's interesting is that similar to Leliana's mysterious resurrection, even if the Warden/Hero of Ferelden refuses Morrigan's ritual and sacrifices him/herself to kill the Archdemon, if you choose an imported game for Awakening, the Warden pulls a Sherlock and is mysteriously alive again, and the narrative is conspicuously silent about how he cheated death. I'm wondering if Inquisition will finally provide an explanation for players who went this route, as well as an explanation for Leliana's survival.

and I wonder if her story will be the same if you killed her or not, or if you hardened her or not cause she'll let you get away with defiling the ashes if she is, but still this was great and I learned a nice bit about one of my fav characters

So basically if Leliana was kept alive by a spirit she'd be another version of Flemeth or that old warden lady in warden's keep.

"No longer have a divine to serve" that's an interesting thought indeed. The Divine has been possessed by a powerful demon all these while and the tearing of the veil is made possible by her? How is that for a plot?

Leliana doesn't always attack you by destroying the ashes. If she likes you enough, you can use persuasion on her. Also, if you convince her that Andraste was a liar, or just a very powerful mage, she'll be more forgiving of the defilement.

I think I once read the suggestion (A codex entry or post by Gaider or something) that Leliana (and Wynne for that matter) could survive the fight with the Warden because they were so close to the Urn of Sacred Ashes which is supposed to have amazing healing powers... so maybe een bringing people back from the dead..

The way I see it, there are three possible reasons that Leliana survives death. 1. She's been stabbed and left before. 2. She dies in a room with a thin veil with ashes that can cure anything, she either used the ashes or the magic in the room that gave the ashes their power saved her. 3. She pulled a Wynne and a spirit saved her. As for the Divine, she might still be serving the Divine. She is a Bard. In Origins is is implied by her starting gear that she was a seeker. She is wearing the Seeker's Circle. Throughout Origins I always felt that she was somehow still in the Game, and the fact that she works for the Divine later on in DAII only reinforces that suspicion. There's also how she is portrayed. In Origins she flat out tells you that she seduces people, and is an expert at essentially choosing the right personality. Yes if you get her affection high, and she seems sincere and honest, but she's a great spy, and spies need to be good at faking sincerity. I believe that if you got her affection high or romanced her that she genuinely loves the Warden, but just because you care about someone doesn't mean that you are manipulating them, or lying to them, or using them.

What is the net result if you romanced Leliana AND kept her alive?

well Leliana was very much alive and well in my game .. but I wondering about the armor you had her in .. It looked soooo much better than that very ugly off-the-shoulder leather armor. I truly love her song at the camp in DAO .. Bioware did a great scene there and I felt moved as I felt moved after my characters death (true paragon) with killing the Bright-Dragon I am sooo keen to see what she has to say in DAI. I've also been wondering about Flemmeth does she make her Droagony return in DAI ?? After all this is what she and Morigan were preparing/waiting for.

what about the Warden(the hero of Ferelden)

im kinda nervous Rhy's was there when the veil broke and everyone died he was my favorite character along with Evangeline. I just sorta hope they stuck with the whole fighting back part and were in some sort of battle instead of at the meeting, it would be cool to seem them in the game.

She does know her way around poisons and what not. Could've planned using something to feign her death. Drugs like that really do exist.

Very small addendum: it is possible that Leliana will not attack, after defiling the Sacred Ashes, if the Warden makes a rather high intimidation check. In that case, the Warden will tell her to stand down, or he will kill her. She agrees to stand down, but swears she will never forgive the Warden for that act. Funny thing is though you lose influence points with Leliana; if you are in a romance with her, you don't lose enough to end the romance, and she will continue to act as though everything is fine between her and the Warden. I'm curious to see if Bioware allows us to set this option in DA Keep. It'd be very interesting to see how Leliana reacts, knowing the one she loves defiled Andraste's ashes in front of her, and she didn't lift a finger to stop them. Especially given her new role serving the Divine. :)

It's possible leliana never really died because if you kill oghren in origins he is still in awakening and says that he woke up after the fight. So maybe leliana was just injured or close to death but was healed by the ashes if she "died" in the temple. Well that's what i'll choose to believe anyway.

I ended Origins with my Warden and Leliana heading off to travel together to look for Morrigan. Since I romanced Leliana, I really want to know what happened between them

I'm finding myself wondering how Leliana will react if my warden makes an appearance (I believe Bioware said he/she would) in Inquisition after all this time. I romanced her in my first few play throughs, but then went through the portal with Morrigan. And I'm honestly glad that she won't be romanceable in this one. I'm very excited to see how this turns out.

Take the innocent sister, for example. Certainly even you can see the naughty woman waiting to escape from that Chantry frock!
