Your toys look great! I’m thinking about going with a 2.5 leveling kit on my 2017 F-250 with 37” x 12.5. After driving your truck for a couple years would you still recommend this? What’s is the offset on your wheels? Have you had any issues with death wobble on your ford? Your input would be greatly appreciated!

FYI, that is not death wobble at all. When you have death wobble, your front axle tires starts skipping off the road, one tire at a time, like a horse galloping. If you didn't have to change your pants, you have not experienced death wobble.

To add to your death wobble issue make sure you didnt alter caster when ya lifted the jeep. Some solid front axles with trailing arms have an issue with when ya lift the vehicle the front end steering axis leans more forward creating less caster inducing death wobble. There are some bushing kits to rectify this and there used to be a kit that shifts the front axle to lean the steering axis back. There is a simular things about this on Power stroke help. Com on this exact situation.

BlacknWhiteBuilds423 I have a 2008 F250 with a 3” lift. 22x12 Soto rims with a -51 offset with AMP MT 37”. I had to do A LOT of metal cutting in order fit in the wheel wells properly with absolutely no rubbing. I’m also trying to find a way to be able to get the speedometer and odometer set properly. You mentioned in another comment about needing to build another garage for the truck? Do you fit in your 7ft garage door? I fit in mine with little room to spare with the clearance lights on top of the cab. I want to raise the truck a little more with the 4” BDS kit but then I wouldn’t fit in the garage unless I raise the garage frame. That’s why I went with this set up in order to still be able to fit in the garage. I haven’t found anyone else yet on the internet with 37’s with the 3” lift. I figured I would try it to still fit in the garage and it worked. Only issue is if you can’t perform a lot of metal work with the AMP MT tires there’s no way it will work with how bad it rubs it actually wouldn’t let the truck move or turn AT ALL with such an aggressive tire. You have rubbing with your AT tires but the AMP MT tires and -51 makes it way worse it is do able if you really know what to do. I didn’t have to cut the outer fenders but definitely had to cut out the metal parts of the inner fenders and bracings a lot and trim the bumper. Overall it looks factory and nobody can tell the difference.

So how do the 37’s do on gas and with factory gearing? I got a 2020 GMC Sierra 3500 with a 6.6L gas engine, I’m thinking of doing a BDS 5 or 6.5” lift with 37” tires. @@TheBoostedFam I contacted BDS SUSPENSION today, I think I’ll be fine with a 3” and 35’s. Anything after the 3” lift is PERMANENT and CAN NOT be put back to factory EVER!! I don’t know if I would ever want to make this permanent, may make resale value a lot less since it’s now stuck at a level most people wouldn’t want, making it worth less to a dealer.

As 89thunderbirdtt said, that isn't death wobble. What you are experiencing is called bump steer and it's because your drag link and track bar are not parallel. A stabilizer will NOT fix it though, it will only mask it a bit. (You are already running a dual stabilizer kit so it's probably as masked as it's going to get.)

That isn't death wobble, it's a shimmy. And it has nothing to do with the size of the tire. It's that front suspension you put on it. Everything was thrown out of spec and needs to be put back in to a proper geometry. Do a Drag link flip, and axle bracket for the trackbar, and that usually brings it close enough to the stock geometry, And the Dana 44 has nothing to do with power to the tires. It's gear ratio, and really your missing out on alot with 4.10's with 37's. The difference between the Rubicon front Dana 44 (excluding the "Rubicon recon") and the standard Dana 30, is the spline count on the axle shafts and the ring and pinion/carrier size. The rear end is just the splines and the carrier type. The reason the 44 is better is because it is less likely to grenade the differential, so you can put stronger axle shafts in without as much worry, otherwise there isn't really any other strengths to having it. A bigger axle would simply be better for the 37's but any of the stock JK'S can handle them doing light stuff and not being too aggressive while off-road.

You don't get death wobble in a jeep because you left it high. You get death wobble because rough country is a terrible lift. Quality parts that support the factory steering geometry don't cause this
@ramrod75662 жыл бұрын
I'm running a RC 6" spring lift on a 99 F350 with no problems what so ever. When you lift a vehicle, you're increasing the angles of your suspension geometry. This magnifies any small play you have in your rod ends, ball joints, wheel bearings, etc. In most cases when someone installs a lift and immediately has problems with vibrations or wobble in the steering, it's going to be because they left old wore joints, bearings, and/or bushings in place. Never rush modifications just to get to the final outcome. You already got things tore apart, inspect and replace needed components while you're in there anyway. Otherwise half the time you're gonna find issues and be tearing it all down again immediately or in the near future. "Bolt ons" is the worst term in the world.
