I'm in my late 50's, lost both my parents recently and now realize my time is almost up too. I've lived my life with no direction because I never took the time to sit quietly to think and plan what I really wanted out of life. I was so focused on just working day to day with the thought that "someday" I'll retire and distracted myself after work with mindless TV. I can't get that time back, but I can make each tomorrow count now. I'm planning to transition to part-time work by end of June of this year, and eventually move to where I've always wanted to live. Fortunately, I've lived a very frugal and minimalist lifestyle so I have the funds to take time off. It's scary, but the thought of continuing living just to make money until I die is worse. There's no certainty in life but I know for certain I can't live this way anymore.

I guess it really depends on where you are in your walk in life. Some people don't have a choice-especially those with families-while some of us do. For me, I don't need to work as hard as others do. But it's true what one commenter said here, there are tkmes when we need money to do the things that make us happy. Money can also be security, which makes it easier for us to be happy. I tried being happy on mindset alone, but that didn't work for me. I tried to be happy by working my bones to the marrow, but that didn't work for me. Finding the pulsating balance between working hard, working smart, slowing down, and enjoying is tough, but not impossible. It'll be a life-long journey for me, but eventually I'll be better at not falling out of balance. I think the best skill to have to do this well is listening to yourself-your heart-and your inner child.

Enjoying whats in front of us is definitely important. I used to have an opposite opinion to that, but now I can accept the perspective. Means, I have grown up a little??🤔
