That's not bad, and a great value. Thanks for answering the questions about your rear sight, and showing it's success.

I initially thought it’d be all plastic but took a chance on it. I was pretty stoked to find most of it is made of metal.

👍 I find it hilarious that you just posted a rear sight video. I have two Williams rear sights that are supposed to be arriving tomorrow. One is for my 362 and the other is for my 2289. I was actually looking for a rear sight for my 766 (2100). I have a globe front sight on it and the base of the (no name) rear peep sight somehow got deformed. I guess from being junk. Lol 😂 I needed a replacement rear sight that would compensate for the height of the globe sight in front, and the Daisy sight is exactly what I need. 🎯 I've been looking all over for options since yesterday. I would not have known about it if you didn't post this video. Thanks ! 👍

Right on, glad I could help! 😀 I’m pretty pleased with it, especially for only $20.

I just ordered one after watching your review. I had just bought a Beeman 2078B that has a very similar sight and I like it a lot. Thanks for the video.

Good to hear you enjoyed the video! I like that it’s much quicker, easier and more precise to adjust than the Williams peep that came on my 362 Anniversary model.

Same with me. 😀 I thought it was a good thing to share as the price was pretty reasonable and it works quite well.

A sight like that really helps to aim small, not high, and keep it in the bullseye!😜👉

Good call reviewing this sight it seems like a hidden gem. What do you think of pulling out the glow stick on that style front sight? My Drifter seems more accurate since I did that. The bugs and heat have been nuts here too I went on a hike and they both really sucked! I brought the Chaser trying to make it a hiking gun but it doesn't compare to the Drifter which is smaller and lighter despite having a built in pump. The Fortitude should be here today I can probably find a spare scope for it, might not get much sleep for work being up late playing with it😅
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska Ай бұрын
I’d not thought of that, is the glow stick difficult to remove? I can foresee how it’d help with accuracy and would be worth trying out if it doesn’t obscure the target like my Daisy 753 front globe does. The Drifter is the perfect gun to take on a hike.

@@airgunsofalaska It was pretty easy with needlenose pliers now I use it like a peep site in the front, works great! It would probably go back in pretty easily if you change your mind. So far so good with the Fortitude it's in perfect shape and the shroud isn't loose like I saw some complaints about, I'm nervous to see if it holds air lol.

@@yoitired Right on, that sounds easy to do. My Maximus didn’t hold air when I first got it. I think it was because it was a NOS gun that sat around for years before it sold. I only needed to replace a small o-ring in the fill nozzle and it was good to go. I’d think your Fortitude should work right out of the box. The other night shooting my Maximus I was thinking about regulators. Hopefully with Daisy buying Crosman I can order guns directly off the Crosman sight in the future. I can order directly from Gamo and Daisy and I’m finding they have great sales once in a while.

@@airgunsofalaska Oh nice that Daisy/Gamo is less restrictive with their shipping,the home sites are definitely worth watching for deals. Well it does not hold air but I think you're right it's just an old crusty oring. I don't want to send it back if that's all that's wrong with it it looks like the assembler did a great job. Sounds like the hissing is coming from the breech area any ideas from your Marauder experience? Guess I should find a schematic or video see how hard it is to take apart.

@airgunsofalaska Ай бұрын
@@yoitired That’s really unfortunate. 🙁 It’s under warranty and you can call Crosman a get the parts for free, that’s what I did with my 397S. Both my P-rod and Maximus have leaked. My P-rod needed a new o-ring on the cap at the end of the pressure tube and the other time a new gauge. My Maximus needed a small o-ring inside the foster fitting where it fills. I’d pump it up fine, but as soon as I removed my hose it’d start leaking air. I’ve not had any experiences with air leaking from the breech. You could even spray a little soapy water on your breech to verify if air is coming from there. A hair dryer will evaporate the water when you are finished. The Crosman site has all the parts diagrams but I bet you can find a YT video showing how to fix it. It was such a good price that it’s definitely worth repairing as I bet it’s something really simple and just went bad from sitting.

Scott, that is a neat setup 😁👍 I wonder how that Daisy peep might work on a hunting/pest control gun? My Williams 'Air Venturi' 5D-AG is sub-$50 and has locking adjustments, but the adjustment screws, included allen wrench, and overall construction aren't very impressive compared to older Williams sights I've used... You could always try a See All open sight or red dot on your Hatsan 130 (Gold Touch on here had a video series documenting his use of a See All on a Hatsan 135 in .30 cal) and I've heard the Polymag pellets tend to fit and shoot well in these 👍 I know these big bore Hatsans often have alignment issues with the barrel, breechblock, and scope rail, and also oversized bores too....from what I've seen though, they can be quite accurate if you have a good one.. Take it easy buddy..👍🙂

@@natesmith5393 I think it work really well as long as you knew the ranges you were shooting at and adjusted the sight accordingly. Over the past month or two I’ve been rediscovering how good iron sights can be. It’s so nice handling a light weight gun that doesn’t feel top heavy. Plus, not have to buy yet another scope or swap and existing scope to a new gun is a bonus. I’ve also found my shooting is more enjoyable as I don’t immediately know what my paper target looks like and I don’t obsess over every single, little tiny bounce or movement of the reticle zoomed in so tight on a bullseye or silhouette. With iron sights those movements are muted to a degree.

@@natesmith5393 I was disappointed in the lack of quick and easy adjustments available on my 362 Anniversary model’s Williams sight. It’s a genuine PITA to adjust. I’ve got another one of these Daisy 5899 sights coming just for my Hatsan 130. From memory I believe I’ll also need to buy an adapter to go from picatinny to 11mm dovetail. Right now the gun is hopeless. I’ve tried scopes and it’s garbage iron rear sight. I’m not excited about red dot sights as I already have too many things that require batteries so I’ve never considered one. I used them on occasion on other people’s guns and they work well but I don’t want to buy one just for use on the Hatsan. I agree, I’ve been told the same things about Hatsan’s QC issues. This 130 will be the last Hatsan I ever get.

@@airgunsofalaska I do believe Williams makes an airgun peep with target adjustment knobs, but it's like $70+ unfortunately... I hear you on Hatsan for sure; I recently had to send an Alpha back because it had a bore so oversized you could see daylight around a chambered pellet! 😮🤣😠 That said, my 95 Vortex is much better out of the box than my previous gas ram rifles, and may be the most accurate piston gun I've owned in nearly two decades...it even shot tighter groups than my tuned Cometa 220!! 😅😁 I just hope it holds up & breaks in well...I did get the extended two year service plan from PA so fingers crossed...
