Can this 10 meter, 500 FPS target rifle shoot accurately out to 35 yds?

I like that air rifle. One pump, and still getting decent shots clear out to 35 yards.

It’s one of my favorites! I think I’ve got enough elevation adjustment left that I could likely shoot all the way out to 50 yds. I’m going to try!😀

Excellent shooting! I have used the peep sight on a 1300KT at 25 yard and know its not easy to see a 1" target, so I can imagine at 35 I wouldn't even see them little targets. Again great marksmanship 🎯

Thanks! I was really surprised by how well the adjustable iron peep sight worked on my 362 Anniversary gun. I got to thinking, “put the target iron sights back on the 753 and see how it does”. I’m really impressed! 😀

Absolute best air rifle ive ever owned was a Daisy 953 that somehow landed at my local Walmart in eastern NC for $56.00 in 2003 IIRC. I bought it because it was so cool looking and had the automatically advancing 5 shot magazine which was so neat to me back then. I scoped it with a cheap Tasco 4x and killed so many blackbirds, crows, doves and squirrels with that rifle. It wasnt super powerful but shot placement was so easy even out to distances that id never try now, id just lob that pellet over and it would really kill better than any pneumatic air gun ive ever had. It finally broke ( trigger/bolt assembly) after 25 or 30,000 shots and i ended up giving it away like an idiot. Id love to find another one now. Super accurate gun and very sweet handling too. You have my envy sir. Excellent video.

I’m really impressed with how accurate and easy to shoot this 753 is. 😀 I bought it on kind of a lark as I was always curious about them but never wanted to spend that much 💰 on a 500 fps gun. Only reason I did was because the channel generates revenue so I’ve got some fun money to play around with and try out different guns. Good to hear your 953 lasted so long! I’ve got an Bakail MP-61 that has a 5 round, auto advancing magazine. That feature is pretty cool! I love how accurate and easy to shoot this 753 is. What a great feeling, you point, aim and hit what you’re shooting at! 😆🤣 I can’t say the same for a number of my airguns.

@thatalaskaguy-airguns I've heard great things about all of those series of airguns, and I'll, without doubt, end up with another 953. I'm stoked to see you shoot the airguns that are actually attainable to most people who don't shoot competitively, though I'd love to see you grow the channel to the point it would pay for an Anschutz someday ha. I was gonna break out the 34 today, but instead of being cloudy, the sun's out in full strength, and it's 95° in the shade here, so F, that. Enjoy that Alaskan summer bro. BTW your 753 looks exactly like my 953 except for the diopter sight and front globe which is supremely awesome for target work. Mine came with some pretty sweet truglo or similar ones that I never really utilized. I've been into blackpowder stuff pretty hard here lately but pretty soon I'll no doubt get back to my airguns and pick up a new one.

@@codered7453 95°F…..Whew! So glad we never see that kind of heat. 😄 I briefly ran the AC in my work truck today as it was 60°F and the sun was baking the interior. Ughhh! I don’t like feeling hot, with cold temps you can always put another layer on. That’d be super cool if the channel ever got big enough to support an Anschutz purchase. Who knows, maybe in a few years?

I acquired one from an online auction. I was surprised with its build quality and accuracy. My version has a very nice wood stock.

They are a very nice gun. 👍 The wood stock would be a nice feature for sure. I don’t mind the synthetic stock though. It has good feel and weight and makes for a tight, solid feeling gun. I’ve grown partial to the all black look as well. 😀

Lol 😂 I can barely see the chicken. I put similar sights on a rebuilt Crosman 766c. I went with the post insert also.

It sure is tiny at 35 yds! I need to repaint all my silhouettes a different color now that I’m in summer. A post style front insert would work a lot better for the shooting I like to do with this 753S.

Great shooting. I know your 753 barrel is German precision engineered. If only multipumps were assembled with same barrel!
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska Ай бұрын
Right?! I’ve been wondering why they don’t offer a multi pump in this gun or a version of it in a pumper? I’d buy one! 😀 I keep thinking in a few years there is going to be a resurgence in the pneumatic/pumper market. A whole bunch of guys will have gotten used to the no recoil and great accuracy of PCP’s but will be sick and tired of hand pumps, air tanks, compressors and all the crap. Someone will market the pumper as a self contained PCP, perhaps it’ll offer a follow up, no pump second shot or at least a magazine and improve upon the ideas and concept of the flawed Seneca Dragonfly. My 362’s are easy to pump. This 753 is easy to stroke and one pump is 500 fps. Perhaps advancements in pumps will yield full power in 2-3 pumps? I don’t know but there is so much to like about pnematics compared to PCP’s, springers & gas ram guns.

Scott, I'm surprisingly impressed how well that gun does at longer ranges; I didn't expect that 😅🤔👍 I like the aperture front sights for hunting, but I can understand you wanting a post or blade for your work... I know in the 753 material it says the barrel is specially bored for match pellets, so that and the relatively small loading port might be causing issues wirh some pellets?? I wonder if a good alloy domed pellet like the Predator GTO or Barracuda Green might help at distances, given the better shape and higher velocity?? 🤔
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska Ай бұрын
I’ve been really curious to see how it’d do at longer distances. It’s been challenging with finding pellets that chamber easily, running out of elevation adjustment and the rainbow trajectory due to 500 fps max velocity. It’s really neat to see that the accuracy is there. The front globe sight is excellent for the paper targets the gun was designed for. It’s unfortunate it didn’t come with a front post insert in the small bag of additional inserts. They are all globe style. I’ve got to do some research or measuring to determine what head size it likes and then find a corresponding dome pellet. The wad cutters work surprisingly well but it’d be neat to try a more aerodynamic pellet.

It's funny when you can't get enough elevation from a scope. I just installed all the parts and pieces from Buck Rail on my 1377 and didn't have enough elevation at 10 yards!😮 I ordered fully adjustable rings from Monstrum, the rings have double recoil lugs that don't work with the bases from Buck Rail. A bit of modification is in my near future! I'll get it working!
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska Ай бұрын
I’ll have to look those adjustable rings up. I tried 2 different scopes on my 753 and both ran out of elevation adjustment. I remember shooting long distances with my Bakail MP-61 using a scope. I want to try this guy out at 50 yds and I think it’ll be capable of accurately hitting small targets at that range but the iron sights and me will be the limiting factor.
@chrislang5659
@chrislang5659 Ай бұрын
@thatalaskaguy-airguns buyer beware. The rings have double recoil lugs, so it has to mount to a picatiny base. I expected a single lug. It is what it is. They seem pretty nice. I'll have to modify the Buck Rail bases. No big deal! It funny, the scope came off my Crosman Legacy that I had sighted for 100! Thought it was really weird I couldn't sight it in for the 1377.🤔🙄

there is nothing like shooting a daisy. l am looking forward to the new gamo vapor 10x pumper comes with 10 shot clip looks like the daisy 880 design. coming out in the fall l am on the waiting list this gun with 10 pumps will go over 1,000 fps . nice shooting with the 753s with open sight's really nice daisy gun.

Whoa what!? Gamo Vapor? I just looked it up…. Wow! 🤩. It looks like a modernized 880. I think I need to get on the waiting list. 😄 Thanks for the kind words, this 753 is so accurate and easy to shoot. I wish they’d up the power in a multi pump format. I’ve not done any research but I wonder if it can be modified with a different valve so it can be pumped up for more power. Of course I don’t want to ruin what it is. So far the 500 fps and single pump does everything I want and I love the simplicity and ease of use. It’d be cool if there was a multi pump, higher FPS version. I can see myself having fun with that Gamo Vapor however. 😄

@@scotthanson4200 totally! The design has been around for so long and it so proven, I don’t think there are any big issues that’ll come as surprises. They had a clip fed version of the 922 back in the 70’s. It’d be really cool to keep some spare mags in your pocket and quickly be able to shoot and reload in the field. I’m glad to see some innovation in reasonably priced pumpers coming out!
