Can a 10 meter gun be used at long range? I think it’s possible but I have more testing to do.

Cool stuff.. Going back to the basics of childhood fun.

I really like how simple, quick and easy this gun is to shoot. It makes for a pleasant experience.

I've had good luck adding a shim inside a scope ring, found some rubber a mm or two thick, cut out a piece and it worked great.

Ahhh! I’d tried plastic a few months ago and wasn’t happy with how it was clamping down. I’d not thought of using rubber. I’ve got old bicycle inner tubes I could cut into strips and likely get to work. Thanks! 😄👍
@yoitiredАй бұрын
@@airgunsofalaska I couldn't remember what rubber I used but now that you mention it, I'm pretty positive it was a bicycle inner tube!

Domed pellet should definitely raise your hits by nature of better BC, if you can find one that works with it.
@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
From what I’ve been researching it appears that my 753 likes 4.5mm head size and no larger.
@yoitiredАй бұрын
Good to know about the elevation issue, makes sense for it being a close range gun but probably not great for walking around plinking.

I’ve been really curious to see if the the high quality barrel would allow a guy to accurately shoot inexpensive pellets. Unfortunately it hasn’t liked any pellets except for Meisterkugelns, SIG Match Pb and QYS match pellets. I’ve not yet found a domed pellet that will chamber easily into the gun. The wadcutters work great at close range and the gun would be good for short distance plinking. But you’d be frustrated using it for longer distances.
@yoitiredАй бұрын
@@airgunsofalaska I was thinking if I had that gun I'd be going right for the domeds for longer range, surprising it doesn't like them. H&N might be your best bet I've noticed they'll have several offerings of the same pellet with only tiny differences in caliber.
@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
@@yoitired I was thinking the same thing, H&N Baracudas but what’s odd is I’m not finding 4.5mm head size. Seems like they are 4.51mm and I believe they will be too big.

@@airgunsofalaska I tried googling "h&n pellets 4.49mm" and found some results😁 Do you still want an underlever? I was just taking a peek at Krale, there's a company called Hammerli from Germany that has one for around $200.

@@airgunsofalaska I tried googling "h&n pellets 4.49mm" and found some results, they might all be wadcutters though. Maybe your wadcutters happen to be 4.49 and that's why your Daisy likes them🤔 Do you still want an underlever? I was just taking a peek at Krale, there's a company called Hammerli from Germany that has one for around $200. If I decide to try one I might go for it, skip the cheap one and the Norica.

try jsb exact express domed pellet ideal for low power guns, hit 6-7 inch higher at 50 yars then a wadcutter match pellet , its 7,87 grain head sizes can choosen to but its should fit the muzzle most 4,52 its ok but it can be differnt,
@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
Thanks! 6-7” higher is what I need. Today was more of a proof of concept and I think the Daisy is capable of good, consistent accuracy at 50 yds. I don’t think I’ve ever owned a pellet gun that was so picky to chamber different brands and types of pellets.

@@airgunsofalaska if the barrel is removable maybe a litlle beveling can be done
@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
@@peteralexben I’m guessing it’d be very similar to the 880 type of construction? I’ve got the JSB exact express domed pellets on order. They are supposed to be a 4.5mm head size so I think they’ll feed properly. From what I’ve researched, the pellets I’ve been using that feed smoothly are 4.5mm head size, unfortunately they’ve all been of the wadcutter type.

Hi , I had the same issue with a Avenger in a 22cal. I looked around and found a set of "FX no limit "scope rings from Pyramyd Air. Their not cheap ( 80 bucks ) but they work great and they don't distort the scope at all . Good luck and informative vid. I'm thinking I may try one of the 753's myself. Thanks
@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
@@TimothyPWalsh Thanks for the info! I just looked those up and wow, pretty expensive! But they do look well made. I think I may have stumbled upon a work around for my 753. I need to do more 50 yd testing but the results are looking quite promising so far.
@peterhennessy9899Ай бұрын
Why don't you shim the rear end of the scope. I have had to do this on the odd occasions when i run out of elevation Bro. 👍👍
@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
I’ve read bad things about shimming the scope. I briefly played around with it in the past on a different gun and wasn’t pleased with how the rings clamped down on the scope.
@Jason-copper1776Ай бұрын
@@airgunsofalaska I would only shim it you use a one piece base plate. I own 3 Parker Hale rifles; 6mm, 7mm, and 30/06. All three needed shim plates in the front. LOL, that was 35 years....
@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
@@Jason-copper1776 I’m not familiar with base plates, I’ll have to look those up. I remember I looked into tapered scope ring shims several months ago and was surprised by how expensive they were. I was looking for the 10° barrel droop compensating mount I’ve got somewhere. I bet I can flip it around backwards for an elevation gain and would need to find different rings for it to mount. Only thing is, I’m not sure if it’ll mount on my receiver in such a manner that still allow easy access to the loading port.

@@airgunsofalaska Yes, your correct. I guess I assumed it was drilled and tapped but it probably is dove-tail.
