Well, if by the whole world you mean the part that wasn't in the Soviet Zone. Not only did I ever get to see Dallas more than a decade after it started, by the time the rights to Knots Landing were bought, the airing of Dallas has ended, so I'm genuinely seeing this for the first time.

In 1986, Raisa had to get public about there not being (although was) shortages of pantyhose in GUM and she did not buy them on state visits abroad. I didn't like Bobby Ewing or Charles Ingalls. Both were hotheads, short-fused, and always ready to beat someone up! In fact, hypothetically speaking, it would have been interesting to see who would have won in a fight between those two!

Maybe because the writers were trying to portray Gary and Val as a young couple, and Lucy did look like she could be a younger sister to them then a daughter.

Lucy was only a supporting character to other characters stories. For example the episode of her wedding. The most you got out of it was JR and Aftons affair and JR getting getting his way in a business deal. Plus Gary's appearance shown only to affect Miss Ellie.

Yes she was their daughter but she was raised by Miss Ellie, Jock and Bobby

@@a.b.sproductionsllc I recall reading somewhere that Joan Van Ark was not pleased that she had a daughter the same age as Lucy and this why she was only seen once on Knots Landing. But Gary and Val went to Dallas for Lucy and Mitch's wedding.

Everything cool about Knots Landing (Gary&Val) would have been better if it had stayed on Dallas.

Both series shared the Jock’s Will storyline. Not at all confusing. This episode was transmitted immediately after the the Dallas episode, Jock’s Will.

@Anthony Thompson It was more out of guilt than love. As for Lucy not working at Ewing Oil, The Women were never encouraged to work there. Jock Ewing was very sexist and territorial when it came to The Business. Remember how he wailed on JR after Leslie Stewart ruined The Deal with The Cartel and he said "A Woman's Place Is In The Bedroom, Not The Boardroom!"

No JR was the first born, then Gary and then Bobby. Gary was supposedly the ‘problem’ middle child.

Agreed. Gary was lucky to receive anything from Jock. His behavior didn’t entitle him to any part of Jock’s fortune. Instead, Jock leaves him the same in total assets that Ray received. As you noted, Ray had worked on Southfork since he was a kid and was the ranch’s foreman when Jock passed. It’s always overlooked that Gary (and Ray) received 10% ownership of Ewing Oil. That’s where the true fortune lied, with the value of Gary’s share being 20 times the total of his trust fund. I wonder if Jock put conditions on Gary’s share of Ewing Oil. He would be due 10% of the company’s profits and could have sold his share of the company for $200 million if he was somehow in need of money.

When Gary later tells J.R. that he has to return to California, J.R. replies, "Yeah, I guess I'd rush home too if I was living next door to a pretty little bundle like Karen Fairgate." This marks the only time that characters introduced in Knots Landing were ever mentioned in Dallas

Not that I had ever watched KL anway, but I know who Sid and Karen Fairgate are. But I only watched those crossover episodes in which someone from Dallas appeared. Wonder why they did that, why they had them mentioned by Gary. Mentioning Valene is one thing, but mentioning someone most "Dallas" viewers most likely would not know ... ?
