In June 2020, we lost one of our national treasures - Dame Vera Lynn. For more than half of a century, Lynn's iconic voice had raised the nation's spirits and has given us pride and strength, especially in difficult times of when it was needed the most. Keep Smiling Through is the perfect commemoration of Dame Vera Lynn's life through her songs and music, with thirteen brand new versions of re-orchestrated songs, plus more.
Keep Smiling Through, which will be released on the 6th November, features thirteen brand-new, never heard before versions of re-orchestrated classic Vera Lynn songs with her beautiful, timeless and inspiring voice. It features High Flight, a moving poem written by a WWII fighter pilot, read by Lynn and accompanied by music, plus a specially recorded medley and a new version of White Christmas as bonus tracks.
The album also features We’ll Meet Again, White Cliffs Of Dover, My Son My Son, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, When You Wish Upon A Star, As Time Goes By and other classic Vera Lynn songs with brand new re-orchestrations with The RAF Squadronaires, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Brighton Festival Chorus, The D-Day Darlings and The Alex Mendham Orchestra.
