Thx great video Eric, no wonder you hit bottom all the lube you applied it bounced off the side and hit bottom , oh well, better that than dry scratching screaming sound, the only thing tight at our age Eric, is old jeans or a new pair of socks , even those stretch out pretty fast, 🤣, I been fallowing the axle overhaul/build since the start ,never drawn out or too long, valuable info you pass along to us viewers, look forward to the next video, I use to build Versatile farm equipment 40 yrs ago and everything was an Eaton differential, the assembly was about 5 times the size of the dana 60 one you got there and somewhere around 800 lbs . 👍

I wouldn’t mind a bit longer videos but these are fine as well. Do what you do because there’s always gonna be “whydontyas” questioning what other people produce! It won’t help with the drilling but if you load up your tap with grease, it’ll hold all the metal chips in the grease while also lubricating the hole being tapped. It bind either as the chips stay in the tap flutes. Great videos on the 60!

I've thought about putting some kind of locker in my dodge dakota. The rear had some kind of limited slip that was like posi track but it doesn't lock like it did before. it had 73,000 when I got it and it locked up like it was supposed to when I put it in 4 hi then the front diff would lock in 4lo so all 4 were getting equal power but it's not working so much now. It still goes in 4x4 mode but the rear is like open diff. But I'm also at 197,800 miles now. I guess the limited slip isn't working so well now. But I have a buddy with the proper tools to give me a hand fixing that problem. The front still mostly locks up but the rear doesn't anymore.

Wouldn't studs work better on the spring mounts keeping the stress out of threads
@MagentaRV3 жыл бұрын
Which are better? electronic or pneumatic lockers, and why?
@offroadrecoveryteam3 жыл бұрын
They both work very well, air is a more complicated install, but the e-locker is more cost
@brandonrichter69103 жыл бұрын
From everyone I've talked to that's run them fancy lockers (my shits welded, spool, or factory posi) they started out with air, ran them for 2 years until they got sick of chasing down air leaks, replacing compressors, ripping off plastic air hose ends etc, then they switched to electric because they're 2 wires, a relay, a couple more wires and a switch, simple as wiring up a light bar and never turned back
@chrisnaaa33783 жыл бұрын
i still think you should use studs like on a dodge 60. way stronger. and they don't wreck the threads
