Teacher's kindness to their students still exists here in the Philippines until now. If teacher knew that one of her student has no food during recess time, with her own money she will give the student so as to have something to eat during break time. They are just like a second parents to all students. A typical Filipino attitude.

we treat our teachers here as our parents. since we spend more time at school, we create special bonds with our class adviser. you wouldn't believe that I'm still in contact with my Grade 6 adviser. She's already 80+ years old and I'm already married with kids also but the bond we built remains the same. that's how Filipinos are.

One thing about the Philippines is that they are super friendly with foreigners. They get excited to see and interact with them. It makes you feel like a friend or family that they haven't seen for a long time, that's how welcoming they are. And there too if it's your friends parents you call them aunt and uncle too not like here in America first name. And sometimes you can call them Mom or Dad too. So moving here kinda feels really different.

Our batch have a group chat so even former students that are outside the country (like me) will have updates about them and we help them financially or any other help we can give. In my time growing up in the 70's.. The Cebuano/visayan people were used to be treated as second class citizens by the tagalogs. Primarily because of our hard tongue, especially when talking in tagalog, the tagalogs would always laugh and even looked down on us as provincials! But then tagalogs only know 2 languages Tagalog and English.. while provincials mostly 3, our mother tongue, Tagalog and English.

Our elementary and HS teachers (batch ‘83 and ‘87) are actively in our class chat group. Every time we have events, they’re included in the planning and all. Our classmates will make necessary arrangements for their transportation - picking them up/dropping them off.. making sure they are comfortable and well taken care of. This is a norm in the Philippines. We have a special bond with our teachers because we look up to them as our second parents.

I agree with this one. Take the city first to get things you need and to familiarize your self first then hit the tourist spots after like 2 days. Cebu (Whale shark and Moalboal for snorkeling, if your adventurous check Canyoneering) Palawan for island hopping, trekking, La Union and Siargao for Surfing. Chill on Boracay beach. Bohol to see the Tarsier, see the chocolate hills. There is more to see but this is the top spots.

I had a teacher in grade school who would give me extra journalism lessons every week in her house just because she believed in my potential as a writer. That went on for three years free of charge. Also, until now as a middle-aged mom, i still get in touch with my high school and college teachers. Anyways, Bacolod is just a 30-minute flight from Cebu. It has lots of historical houses that are worth checking out. Food is very delicious and affordable too. And yes, the people are very sweet and friendly. As for rats in hotels, there shouldn't be any, especially in the city. I guess she checked in at the old hotels. Also from Cebu, you can ride a 2-hour ferry to Bohol which has beautiful beaches and lots of interesting places to visit. Cebu City itself is a bit chaotic. Narrow roads and too much traffic. But the provinces are great and the people are nicer and accommodating. Do visit around November. June-October is typhoon season so expect lots of rain during those months.

I’m a Filipino-American citizen living in California, yes I’m very proud of my Filipino heritage. We are very loving, caring, kind etc. Philippines is a very hospitable country. Wherever you go, you will not get lost because every corner of this country can speak different languages. If you want to go some other places and you don’t how to get there, just ask and they will give you directions or if you don’t mind they will accompany you to that place. There’s a lot of foreigners living in the Philippines. First, it’s cheaper to buy or built a house of your own. Second, the place to live in the Philippines if you want some peace of mind is the province. Recommend the place like Cebu, Leyte, Bohol, Tagaytay every place that is far from the crowded city which is Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Third, if you want to live like the same weather as San Francisco, go to Baguio the summer capital of the Philippines. If you planning to visit just for vacation, November/December is the best time to go there. Spend your Christmas and New Year and experience how beautiful and welcoming environment is waiting for you. A lot of foreigners spent their Christmas and New Year in the Philippines. You will experience the best Christmas and New Year because of the hospitality of the people around you, best food and the New Year in the Philippines is so amazing. Fireworks everywhere, great street foods and everything. Christmas season start in the month of September, October, November and December. We have the longest Christmas celebration of all the country. And you will feel the spirit of Christmas everywhere in my country. My country is not rich when it comes to material things, but we are rich in our love to people around us whether it’s a family, friends, relatives and other people etc. Filipinos are very sweet, loving, caring, generous, kind, humble and most of all very religious people. So, please don’t wait, visit the Philippines and feel the warmth and very welcoming country in the world. ❤️❤️❤️👍👏🫶

There are many Korean kids who study in the Philippines for the following reasons: 1. It's cheaper. An exclusive school in the Philippines will cost about 1000USD per year. Although there are public schools in Korea, they don't teach English so if they want to learn, they need to enroll in academies. In the Philippines, English is included in our curriculum from Kindergarten to college. 2. If they enroll in Chinese schools, English and Chinese languages are also taught there. 3. The cost of living is way cheaper. Jessica went to school in Bacolod. It's a progressive city but Manila is the most expensive. I know of Korean kids that are enrolled in Batangas and many other places. 3. Korean kids are enrolled in Philippine schools but they all live in one house (like a dorm) where there's a Korean mom and a Filipino Mom to take care of them. 4. Filipino teachers for the most part are very warm. They will demand respect but they'll also be there when you need them. They're our 2nd mothers.

The Filipino culture is tight knit because most homes are multigenerational --- its not only your parents and siblings living with you but sometimes your aunts, uncles, cousins, grandchildren and or extended family are living under the same roof at any given time period. Also elementary schools are not quite rigid like high school... By that time it's quite structured, preparing you for college which is highly expected.

i stumble with you guys while searching for Jessica's video because i am an avid sub of hers and its nice to watch your reaction to her vlog going to bacolod my place and my city, bacolod is a nearby island next to cebu its mostly provincial but most expats resides in this island if they want peace and quiet, there was a video uploaded a couple of weeks ago where she visits her teachers in the US, here in ph we treat our teachers as second parents even if the age gap is almost the same and most teachers bond with their students to create a core memory that will last long. seen your video guys reacting to some filipino artist etc hope so can visit ph and enjoy the stay, GOD bless

Education/schools in the Philippines is like same as in other countries. We go to school at 7am, have recess at around like 9am for 30minutes. Then go back to class again, then have lunch at 12 in the afternoon. Then go back to class an hour later. Class ends usually at around 4pm. (Not all, but majority of schools here). We also have strict rules and regulations in our school here, with uniform, length of hairs for males, there is also a NO HAIR COLORING policies in public school, sometimes rules with jewelry too. I studied in a private school when I was in high school and they have these extreme rules in the school where jewelry is not allowed (only watches), phones are not allowed as well, the length of the skirt is very strict, it should not go above the knee, and also not colored bra (undergarments) allowed (because our blouse is white. Very very strict.

My prayer for both of you is with the short time that you stay here, you'll be able to forge genuine and beautiful relationships here which will push you to keep coming back. So glad that you reacted to this.. I am from the City of Smiles, Bacolod.😊 I heard that your first stop here in the Philippines is Cebu. Negros province is just next to from Cebu and Bacolod is the Capital city of Negros Occidental. From Negros island itself there are so many tourist spots that you can visit. So, if you want to visit Bacolod and more beautiful tourist destinations here, you may take a bus (but take many hours of ride 😳) or plane going to Bacolod and taste our delicacies and famous chicken inasal. 😊 next, take a super ferry going to Iloilo and go to Guimaras island where very sweet mangos are. You may also take a bus from Iloilo city going to the beautiful island of Boracay Island. Hmmm, there are lots of astonishing places here in the Phils. I only wish you can visit them all. 🥰 stay safe and God bless the whole family. 🥰🥰

It's very common here to be friends with your teachers. Especiay when u grow up in 1 school. And sometimes u celebrate with them, they go to your parties or you go to their parties. It's sometimes inappropriate but there's really a thin line between being friends/families w/them & these teachers r grown up adult taking advantage of minors. But the latter is so rare that it's d norm to have a tight bond with teachers, tchrs here r generally passionate & rlly cares 4 their stydents.

Teachers here in the Philippines is like your Family coz they will encourage you to express yourself and most of the times teachers are the one who discover your TALENTS like Dancing, Singing, Acting and drawing.Every subjects here in the Philippines have a talent portion . I remember when I was in Grade School and High School there was a time that teachers want us to relax like teachers will make jokes and They will make us Show our talents . And I Remember when I was in High school teachers will encourage us to compete in a Say-Awit(dance and sing) competition. And since we had to do a practice we cannot be able to attend some of the class but all of my Class teachers are considerate and agreed to let us practice and that is how Filipino's are not shy showing of out talents 😂 Because we have a teachers on our back

Being a Teacher is a Noble Job/Profession in Philippines. Without our great teachers we don't have great engineers, doctors, nurses, lawyers & skilled professionals. And I'm always grateful and blessed that my Mother was my first Teacher 🙏! That's why its best to homeschool your kids if you leave in US, the curriculum nowadays is so frustrating and so backwards. School nowadays is more on social justice and indoctrination, what a waste of people's taxes. Very sad that most kids in US are struggling in basic math and reading.😒

Anyway, traveling in the Phillippines between August to November is good cause it's off-season, so you could get 5-star hotels for almost half the price. Rats in the province?
