@Daemon Noir lol the astronaut was not in space, he was still in the ship. Jean Grey was holding the ship together. Nightcrawler could take him to the section in the ship. Quicksilver can run on the floor, side of the ship or ceiling to retrieve the astronaut.

Quicksilver should technically be able to stop any conflict with hostiles before they begin

The speed at which Quicksilver accelerates and moves are so powerful he is basically untouchable as long as hjs feet touche a surface. Unfortunately, he got taken out of the plot quickly otherwise the movie would have just stopped

The force of the blasts would create recoil that Cyclops would have to compensate for. Having to do so for different magnitudes of blasts from different positions and angles changes the technique of each shot. So it's not as easy as simply looking at someone. The firing portion also has to happen

I don't think that's something that ever occurred in the comics. That there was any kind of recoil with his optic blasts. His eyes are literally portals to another dimension that when opened release an energy blast.

The storyline can be done well in a movie. The cartoon did a good job with it. The problem is that Fox puts no care whatsoever into the character development or continuity of these characters, so it never feels like it’s properly done. When Marvel eventually does X-Men films, I can see them doing a good job of building up to this storyline and doing it justice.

apocalypse also was able to increase his power though. that was not a natural state magneto was in. His power was amplified for being a horseman. However yes lifting the stadium is one he can actually do.

I'd argue that the power upgrades that apocalypse gave were permanent other wise storm would have just turned back into her weak version.

If he upgraded Magneto at all. When he upgrades Storm, her hair turns white. When he upgrades wing-dude whose name no one cares about, his wings turn to steel. Magneto doesn't change at all. Further, he calls it 'your own strength' which suggests that Magneto could tap into the Earth's field already, and just didn't realize it.

He didn't upgrade magneto though, he just showed him that if he concentrated he would be able to feel the earth's entire electromagnetic field.

Why did they have it in this film that Xavier put mental blocks in Jean? I thought the whole point was supposed to be that McAvoy-Charles learned from the mistakes of Stewart-Charles in Days of Future Past and subtly made the future better; one of those ways being that he didn't resort to mental blocks, as shown in X-Men: Apocalypse.

It's best to think of Days of Future Past as the ending to this series and Logan as the afterword to the series. ... and ignore Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix, ... and look at Deadpool as side stories that somehow take place in between First Class and X1.
