Intending this to be the most complete look at this character and we pick up from Part 1.
Is Freja Seath? What was Seath's aim in Dark Souls 2? How has Ocerios gained Seath's body? All these questions, and more, will be answered.

Something cool about spiders as they relate to Seath metaphorically is that many species have no natural growth limit, growing as large as the environment allows them to (food, space, etc.). Applied to Seath, his thirst for immortality, and his absence of it is the only limitation on his being, otherwise knowing none to his power, resources, or influences, ultimately making him just as frail as any other spider. Perhaps not intentional, but I like the kind of symmetry it has.

Don't you find it ironic that Seath despised his genetic defect, and took it out on all dragon kind, yet Oceiros reached out to Seath specifically to create the "perfect" heir, using his deformation as a base?

Outstanding observations mate. I have never played DS2 but i got blown away by your take on spider Frea being a vessel for Seath. I saw some arguments on whether DS2 connected lore-wise to the rest of the trilogy, since DS2 been deemed non-canon, and you here bringing an excellent point to connect all three games. Looking forward your next explorations of Souls lore, cheers!

DS2 is a very worthwhile game to explore Lore wise. Glad you enjoyed my take on this across the trilogy. I feel that Seath is definitely one of the best connected characters for this

@@SmoughTown One day my hands will get on DS2, it seems like a journey worth to experience. I know you have mentioned that you will discuss Yorshka in your epilogue video for Seath, but what about the little girl in Ariandel's painted world who asked Gael for a dark soul pigment for her drawings? She has a serpent-like eyes but i don't recall her having a tail or a scaly skin; been awhile since i played DS3 so i might confuse something easily..Will be curious to hear your opinion on that mysterious character. Thank you for taking your time to reply on my comments, you are a rare youtuber who consistently doing so.

@@TooBigBirdy Hey Bud - I think it's worthwhile, personally I do enjoy DS2 and certainly consider it to be another good addition to the series with some interesting lore points to consider. The DLC in particular is stunning and challenging, and is some of the best content in the series. All I would say is it does 'feel' slightly different in terms of gameplay and art direction. In regards to the painting girl, I will have a look at her and consider her in my video - thank you for bringing it to my attention. Thanks so much for the support and thoughtful comments :)

Man, in all the games, Seaths creations are a reflection of his motivation. DS1, he created the Moonlight Butterfly. And what are Butterflies associated with? Metamorphosis. DS2, he creates the spider. And what are spiders associated with? Creating an intricate and often complicated and delicate web. Here we see the complexity, and perhaps precariousness, of Seaths machinations on the road to immortality.

I appreciate every lore video of yours. You have come a long way, great to hear the confidence in your voice, I remember when you would stumble and now you have a much more developed narration, editing and overall production value. Keep it up. Cant wait for the next video. Would love more speculation and theory videos for ds 1 2 3 there's a lot of 2 that nobody has went over so maybe one day you'll get to cover it all. Hopefully we get ds4 or a remake of dark souls 2

Great video. I never made the connection of the white crystals and the dragon in Brightstone. It makes sense that Seathe would try to transpose his soul into the ancient dragon corpse. Although if his soul never dies, then doesn't that mean he technically obtained immortality? Before the age of fire there were no souls. What if just getting a soul, and the fact that he was an ancient dragon, somehow gave him some aspects of immortality that he never realised in his madness? The souls of the other 3 other lords Gwyn, Nito, and Izalith also are present in DS2, and I don't see many talk about what the presence of their souls means.

I think this is an interesting paradox of Seath and is something I'll talk in the epilogue. I feel Seath is so fixated, and obsessed with obtaining an Immortal body that by that obsession - his soul gains a measure of immortality but it is sustained by that unending desire for the Scales of immortality.

Yea but izalith gwyn and nitro had the LORD SOULS. The lord souls are immortal and what you see in ds2. Seath never had a lord soul, so his soul didn’t become immortal he IS dead.

What I realize is so fascinating about Seath is how he uses Science, but how Science to him, Experiment and Observation, is going to look something different when it's being conducted by a creature that doesn't share the perspective of senses of a human being. Alien Science. I dig it.

What is seath tricked osiris into making the perfect hear. But instead osiris was making a hybrid vessel for seath (ocelot).

Wow the questline proceeds through DS2, and so well done, Yea I remember the dragon that looked like Seth in the spider lair. Maybe people shouldn't have hated on ds2 when it came out now that you think about it. The story is still top notch it seems like. I was worried when I saw that Oceiris drops the Moonlight Sword. But the Item description seems to either taunt him or point out his desire was his demise. I always hoped that the moonlight would help midir in his task. Maybe his desire was just different from the Pale Dragon's. Maybe Midir's desire came from the difficulty of his task and wanted to be with the old moonlight. The pale dragon's soul gives you a great man made weapon. Which resembles the spell you get from the transposition of Midir's soul.

My one critique (old video I know) is that I think Tseldora is separate from Lordran just like all of drangleic; for instance why didnt seath find the ancient dragon corpse in ds1 if its the same place? I think that drangleic HAD an ancient dragons corpse, which resulted in seaths soul making its way to there due to his obsession which also then results in the growth of crystals. It seems though that the crystals only are growing from the land and not part of a "crystal cave" so to speak.

We are underground. Drangleic is built a top Lordran. The crystal caves are also underground. BUT, it's like someone dug a hole, at the summit of mt Everest.

Seathe likely did have the corpse stashed away in the crystal caves somewhere. He would've had easy access to acquire one and the absolute interest to study it and keep it. Then down the road went back to it maybe even wanted the mining to redig it back up from the start so he could restart his work on it

I hope the epilogue will contain some King's Field lore, given the presence of Old Moonlight and the implication that the KF timeline predates even the Age of Ancients (where there is no power of the First Flame guiding the world, but Seath exists, of sorts).

Wait, all the Dragons are dead. But Seath isn't dying, he reincarnates. So, what if he doesn't want a Dragons body in order to live forever? What if he wants a dragons body in order to finally die? And that all his efforts have just been to stabilize himself to eventually acquire this method?

Seath was given a shred of a Lord soul and it was as confirmed as possible his experiments were entirely directed towards how to become immortal and his jealousy of immortality. The only reason he doesnt permanently pass like everyone else is almost assuredly due to these experiments and what they uncovered or enabled him to do To me it's entirely unfeasible he wants to die

Hey 2 years late here. I like to think that the ds1 story ends when we leave Logan in the library. That way he got to be mad in his knowledge and pass something on Edit: 50 int is over rated anyways. 44 int build way to go
