Most RP is like that. A lot of RP tends to be people doing nothing, playing a part waiting for something to happen so when some form activity happens it becomes like...a node that sucks in people if they feel invited. I say that as an RP'ers, the vast majority of RP is unironically ver in group and hidden away if anything remotely interesting is happening. Uninteresting RP is typically reserved for the outsiders/ non-friends.

my first time I logged into a Gmod RP server, I ran into three guys in tattered clothes who were dragging this massive tree log along the main street using bricks attached to ropes. we all just knew we had to move that log. wish all RP servers were that creative
