I've done something similar to a gmod server network called icefuse. My boy was staff so he would tell me private info on the server and would give me teamspeak perms in staff channels etc. Shit was pure gold I would just join on sockpuppet accounts and impersonate "high rank" (lol) people maybe say some uncharacteristic things in text chat, drop a couple staff secrets, and quit. Then just watch pure chaos unfold on my friends side of things.

Elite Dangerous fell down this downward spiral, albeit through a lack of in-game systems from the developers to handle player crime properly. Getting ganked in an early ship sucks and people who prey on new players are scum, but it's an intended part of the game; eventually you should have ships where you can survive and even fight back against people that pick a fight with you. But armchair Napoleons will sit at the planet with the first engineer (ship upgrade specialist) and shoot down people flying early game ships to her, which just pushes people to play in solo or in PvE servers, which just kills most potential player interaction. In Elite's case, as soon as you start playing in a way that puts power in your hands (interdicting players, attempted piracy, etc.), the players will just quit, either to play solo or quit the game entirely.

@@McLainCraft I used to play Arma 3 RP in 2016/17. I did have lots of fun back then but the power struggles killed the whole RP vibe. I eventually realised ‘roleplay’ was just the word used to stop people killing on sight. It was pretty much cops and robbers but you had to ‘initiate’ an interaction before any shots could be made which made it more fair. Looking back those were the best gaming days of my life. It’s not the same anymore.
