A couple of weeks back i totally cut someone off by diving around a right turner last minute without even glancing in the mirrors. This was the most stressful DCA yet because i was sure i was going to end up in it

@@oscarjeans4119 Mine was about a month ago, car behind pulled into the lane next to me to overtake at a merge once our light goes green. I timed the lights but didn't notice the cars waiting to turn (didn't dip my head to see behind my A pillar). Long story short the turning folks got two green arrows in a row (at 10PM???) - made a real ass of myself when I pounced a red light and had to roll back behind the line.

I pulled on to a roundabout only to misjudge the speed of the black hummer comimg towards me fom the right - yes hummer was well over 50km , but it wasnt that close , maybe 15m but he still felt the need to lean on his horn.silly me for assumimg his speed.

@@KizerKazeATLive CTP isn't car insurance, it covers the cost of medical bills you may be liable for during an accident. It won't cover damage to another car (third party property) or your car (comprehensive), and pricing is mostly dictated around things like points and incidents. It is definitely possible and unfortunately common to not have your car insured in Australia

I've almost hit a car as I turned out of a T-intersection because it was around sunset, no street lights but dark enough out. The driver did not have their lights on, and glossy reflection of the car at that time of the day just looked like nothing was there.

He crossed from the other side of the road. As the cam car moves from the corner you can just see reflectors of another bike across the road on the bike lane. Not sure if it's the same bike, but driver has no reason to apologise to oblivious rider.

As a 'bike rider', No Light {headlights & tail lights} at night is 'Real Bad'. Can't see Stuff in road or Potholes. What was that rider doing, in the Center of the road? Being on the side of road 'is safer'. like in the bike line.

@@matthewvelo Yep, I've been caught with dead batteries too. Tried wedging my phone with its torch on under the strap of my backpack facing sort of forward. Didn't work too well. Ended up riding all the way home one handed, slow, holding up phone in front of me. Not ideal.

Regular cyclist here- honestly I can't pin ANY fault on the motorist when the cyclist has made himself invisible. Driver's apology was an effective de-escalator for their conversation but frankly he did nothing wrong. Hopefully lesson learned for the cyclist and he buys a few lights before he gets himself killed.

Their CTP is through QBE, that doesn't mean their property insurance (ie TPPD/Comprehensive) is through them though. CTP is not rated on an individual basis, rather collectively on demographic, location and age/sex based on NSW government direction - it's standardised and capped across the board.

I wouldn’t have apologised personally, that cyclist is a danger to himself riding around at night time with no lights or reflectors, so I wouldn’t really say it was a mistake on the drivers behalf. Like how the hell was the poor bastard supposed to see an essentially invisible bike rider on a pitch black bit of road🤨

I'm pretty sure that's a Magpie Lark, the most psychotic bid I've ever encountered. They see their reflection in a car mirror or window and will attack it, and because the 'other' bird won't retreat they just get more and more worked up. Little bird syndrome.

0:52 reminded me of an incident way back in the early 90's, i was a delivery driver for a pizza shop on Barkly St StKilda (just around from the end of Ackland St), one Saturday night i did a delivery in the Albert Park area, it was PISSING rain, visibility under a few metre's, i stopped before turning right onto Kerford Road, as i started to drive forward a bicyclist hits my front drivers guard. she was wearing black, NO LIGHTS, and carrying a OPEN UMBRELLA in one hand, she thought i'd stopped to give way, she was INVISIBLE. we exchanged numbers and when i called the next day she said she was fine just a few bruises.
