You and your SO would have to both be very highly disposed to virtue and at a well established maturity level in order to confidently maintain intentions of purity and chastity. I would say that is a very small percentage, and even they are not immune to the devil’s sly temptations (remember the devil is a master in disguise and is highly opportunistic). A recommendation is to make it a group thing. Invite another Catholic couple over to have dinner at your place, take a couple of mutual friends, etc.

I think if they’re both virgins it could possibly work. But they would have to obviously be very devout. The reason I say you have to be virgins is bc if you are not it’s way harder to abstain even if it’s something you are 100% certain you want to do, it is still extremely difficult once you’ve crossed that line. If only on person it a virgin, most likely it will be easier for them to abstain than the other person. I speak from experience. It’s probably just better not to do it if you are both not virgins and trying to abstain, you’re not as strong as you think. We tend to overestimate ourselves

The church teaches that the 3 criteria that needs to be met for something to be a mortal sin are grave sin, knowledge and deliberate consent. And all 3 of these have to be met.

Catholicism isn't a cult. You always have a free will, and as such, should be able to choose to watch whatever you like. It's about discernment and understanding the films' context. From a viewer perspective, I submit that not all movies need to have characters do exactly what we should do. It's their story, not ours. Not all movies have to be inspiring or teaching us how to act - we ourselves should know how to act. Having seen both, I certainly prefer Oppenheimer over Barbie, but artistic merits of both are praiseworthy. If a movie is done well and can achieve an emotional connection with an audience, it's at least a good one.
